I will never turn in my Flyers fan card but this franchise is not in a good place right now, sadly.

On the youtube video linked

"Fletcher has no resume at this level"

"Fletcher made a career's worth of unforgiveable decisions in one Summer"

That about sums it up.

But he is a damn good puppet for Booby Clarke and the has been minions.
The problem is that Danny Briere most likely has already been poisoned. They need to flush all the old heads in this organization down the toily immediately!!

The first thing they need to do is go back to the Lindros era jersey’s. Gotta start somewhere.

I know what you're saying. Very hard to not be a fan when you've been a fan for so long. If the Flyers would have hired that DB Tocchet as coach I would have turned in my fan card immediately, but at least they didn't make that would be colossal blunder. It's funny that the coaching vacancies have basically all been filled and not a mention of him.

I’m 56 years old, been a fan a long time, it’s just painful right now.

Meh, just ok. Not terrible. Just ok. If you want to bring back the Flyers of old, dress like them.

I've been a Flyers fan forever, and, while I am not proud of it, I actually enjoyed watching this team implode under its archaic philosphy.....So the silver lining is, I win either way. Unfortunately, that is what it has come to

Sadly I have zero confidence that CF won’t eff this off-season up.
All he should do is pick at 5. Pick up a depth dman and let it ride.
If the team sucks then so be it. Getting a high priced free agent isn’t doable without losing salary.
Any crazy trade such as Dcat is just going to set the team back and kill depth.

ADC is an exciting idea. He is very talented. But, the value won’t match the cost. The part of me that wants to watch a fun hockey team is yelling “get him, get him” but the reasonable fan that wants this team to win for many years is saying “play it cool Chuck…play it cool.”

This guy is going to get paid big time.

Funny all those complaining about Fletcher now, just fell in line like the sheep they are when he was hired. I mean the decade full of futility he produced in Minnesota wasn't a red flag or anything.

Most people were not overjoyed when Fletcher was hired and took a wait and see approach. Including the poster who claims that people fell in line like sheep.

Never wanted Fletcher. Never wanted Hayes from the moment I heard rumors of us going after him, which predated trading for his rights.

I don’t agree with anyone who says we’ve been a bad organization for a very long time. If you wanna argue that we’re a bad organization right now, that’s a different conversation entirely. Ed Snider passing away 6 years ago in my opinion isn’t along time. For those who believe it would be silly to have anything that looks anything like the Broad Street Bullies today, you should be longing to continue something that carries that tradition right now. There is no tradition right now. There is no identity right now. Fletcher was never a Flyer before coming here. We don’t have to beat the crap out of everyone. Just be tough to play against.

Dec 3, 2018:

Well here we are. Nothing has worked. This franchise hasn't won a playoff series in 6 years, and this year is looking like 7. So it's on to the next GM, and likely the next coach soon. The beat just goes on and on.

I won't pretend to know a ton about Fletcher, only what I've read. I don't see anything in the results he had in Minnesota that will make him succeed here. But every situation is different. So hopefully he's learned with experience. Obviously a smart guy being a Harvard graduate. I guess time will tell.

Got to think the Devils will end up with either JG or DeBrincat. Going to be very interesting leading up to the draft on Friday.

For me, I said this past season would be the final grade for Hextall, the last year for his picks to stand out, the season went by and Hextalls grade went down.

I like to give time, so here we go with CF. I think this season will be the final grade for Elllis and Risto, will they slot top 2 and top 4 and achieve or will they be what we think think they are, hurt and bad hockey IQ. From a drafting perspective, it is fair to give CF this season and really next season to see how he drafted, time will tell.

Last and most important, team building, Hextall didn't get it right and so far CF has not gotten it right. Hayes and JVR, are great examples of bad team building, really god players on the right team but not on a team that skating is not their strength, not on a team that does not have high end skill around them. CF, has a chance to change the direction, take the 5th pick, load up for the 2023 draft and make good hockey trades. As a fan I am in CF's corner, I want him to succeed but I have huge doubts.

Fletcher is a lot like the Flyers old guard. They value loyalty to an extreme. Loyalty is an admiral trait but has to be managed so as not to be detrimental to the team. I see Fletcher as being emotional not cerebral. He’s not GM material. Just lucky to be Cliff’s son.

Yar, he grew up behind the curtain. He is steeped in the old boys club, where friendship is currency, and one hand always washes the other. He presents himself as a logic-driven builder, but what he's really doing is just emulating daddy.
