Isn’t the teams window the next couple of years? Shesty, Kreider, Panarin, zib, Trouba, Lindgren, Goodrow and then Miller would all be in their prime years. Have enough younger players to fill in the gap. Not saying I want to trade Kakko but if it happens and they get a legit player like Miller it’s going to be fun - TPC
Once they sign him to an extension and can still keep and Laf and Miller I’m all in. I’d think they’ve thought this part out lol trading the kids to get better is one thing, but to have to trade Kandre because of JTs contract is just going to create a gaping hole somewhere else. I think that’s what the fear is with this trade happening. It better be a well thought plan to be able to keep these guys. |

If Drury is as good as we think he is, I am sure he has a plan and is looking down the road too. |

No he isnt cause they arent 1 piece from the Cup. Trading KK + for a 30yo Miller who had ONE good year is such a waste. - Brukie
This isn't me giving justifying trading Kakko+ for JT Miller or even acquiring JT Miller at all but I'd say we are 2 linemates for panarin away from having our best shot at the cup in this current window (while Mika and Kreider are still top contributors). Maybe we already have 1 of those 2 in Kravtsov or Othmann? Maybe not. I don't see how we acquire Miller considering the cap hit he will command after this coming season, and I couldn't possibly fathom Drury trading Kakko+ for a 1 year rental. But that's why he's GM and I'm not I hope |

The only counter point is this could be the last offseason where Kakko’s trade value is high. Another Meh season it could be hard to use him in a big move. So many factors Drury has to consider |

As an aside, I really hope we find room to bring Motte back. He's the kind of bottom 6 guy that makes an impact |

I am sure Drury is wishing he didn’t extend Reaves so quickly. His money could go right to Motte |

I hoped he learned to not throw money around like a drunken sailor. At least these were cheap ones that won’t kill us, Nemeth and Reaves |

It was his first year as a gm, I will give him mulligans on them. The rest of his moves were solid |

It would be just as in the past old days, dealing kids for aging Vets!! - Brukie
Agreed!
And if we're dealing a forward, it should be LW where we have some depth. Getting Miller for just one season is simply wrong on so many levels... |

Why do you think his trade value is high? |
