A CapFriendly guy said the VO was also part of the deal. I don’t buy it. |

That's tempting but if we had to spread the buyout over 4 years that 2.5 per would really hurt in year 3 and year 4 when we have to sign some of the kids.

Maybe the dream for Murray isn’t dead and they pull 7 from Ottawa. I would think 7 and 9 could get 2.
Maybe they can agree to buy him out once he waives, or they find a third team he will waive for to facilitate the deal. - Pegullaville
I'd rather have 7 and 9 than 2; someone like Jiricek and Savoie > wright, Cooley or Saf, I think |

I would be surprised if Jiricek slid out of the top 5, but it is the NHL draft.
Also a chance that 7 and 9 is better than 2 years down the line but tough to tell now.
If Wright is there, and this past year was just knocking the rust off, you have your Eichel replacement |

I would have been fine with the trade. We got a better draft pick, a bounce back candidate, and another asset (apparently). AT the end of the day, nice to see GMKA doing work.
Wright is no Eichel. |

True but I think one of Jiricek or Nemec will fall to 7. If not, you'll be getting two ridiculous forwards like Gauthier, Kemmell, Savoie

Yeah, because having a mil in the bank will prevent him from getting his undergrad at age 25. Lol
Edit: And, if your thought is his actual thought process, that again tells me hes not focused on becoming an NHL goalie #1. - lacaprup
Your an idiot
Life isn't about becoming an NHL #1 goalie. He's young an wants to enjoy youth whle getting a degree. How you gunna hate on that |

Probably not anymore. Looks like Fleury is walking so it'd probably cost more than he's worth. |

I want him to keep swinging for Murray.

Hoping he takes a 2 year swing at MAF. He's the only above average goalie that will sign for limited term. Does he want to come to Buffalo? Probably no, but, worth looking into and fits the teams timeframe |

Mafia should flood Murray's social media, if he's active

I haven't seen anyone speculate this but I wonder if they are trading him in part because they want Kane and Toews to be more amenable to leaving. It doesn't make sense to trade him and not the other two.
