That's tempting but if we had to spread the buyout over 4 years that 2.5 per would really hurt in year 3 and year 4 when we have to sign some of the kids.

Maybe the dream for Murray isn’t dead and they pull 7 from Ottawa. I would think 7 and 9 could get 2.

I haven't seen anyone speculate this but I wonder if they are trading him in part because they want Kane and Toews to be more amenable to leaving. It doesn't make sense to trade him and not the other two.
