But those weren't moral victories - they were real victories. They had a really tough schedule down the stretch and they won more games that anyone thought they would. Again, it was the kids playing and we had bad goaltending. Lots more kids coming. If even some of them pan out we are set up to have a real shot at it for a good long time. - Slump Buster
We still need a goalie... Like you said we had bad goaltending. We were winning games down the stretch by scoring not playing amazing defense and the goalies winning us games... I have zero faith in any of our goaltending options currently in the system to pay off at all within the next 3 years

Eichel expressed a desire to leave if things didn't get better by year 4..
Reinhart year 5
Dahlin is all ready coming up on year 5
Cozens year 3
Let's not act like they're wet behind the ears and Reinhart and Eichel were 55 - bluengold12
There is a giant difference here. Part of the reason TMGM didn't win is that the back half of his roster stunk and his D was bad. We put the majority of our eggs in the Eichel basket. The team never ever ever ever felt like it was on the edge of making a jump other than a couple of fluky 10 game win streaks. There wasn't enough on the roster and the cupboard was empty.

No they didn’t. Making things up to try to justify your point doesn’t mean it’s true. Eichel’s 4th year was his best ever and things were looking up. And that was Reinhart’s 5th year. This post is laughable |

Agreed, completely. I'd be shocked if we didn't get one in the next 2 weeks. Until then... I don't see the need to panic.

They still have one thing in common - Losing. Not making the playoffs. Hope for the future can only take you so long. Probably longer for fans than players, that's for sure. |

Throw a pick to SJ for Hill or Reimer. Throw some cash at Husso or Campbell.
It's really not acceptable for a GM to say "this is too hard." - Hank Balling
Wouldn't be surprised to see a swap of picks with the Bruins and ullmark heading to buffalo

When it got too hard last year, they ended up with Anderson. They learned their lesson and didn't let that happen again. Progress.

Sure is, Kuemper ends up in Edmonton next season, MAF who knows he’s not coming here even though I love that idea. Adams best shot is trading for one without a NTC. - Stripes77

I mean Eichel wanted out from the beginning. Let’s not act differently. He just never was vocal about it. He never wanted to come to Buffalo. Go back and watch the beyond blue and gold when he was drafted. He wasn’t happy in the meetings with Murray and Terry. |

Eichel said in his end of season presser that year he was fed up and wanted to see things improve or else.
Reinhart played the same year as Eichel buddy. I'm not counting a 9 game try out the year before

But who on the team is used to losing? Okposo and Girgs and they both appear to be extremely happy with the team. 55 and 23 were tired of it (understandably) and they are gone. The guys that were used to losing are gone.

And how many of those guys are available?
No one here has been talking about needing a goalie for longer than i have
It’s just not easy to do |

Im now worried ownership will push them to ignore the analytics and overpay for kane.
They try it every summer, except this time Chicago will take their call. Hopefully he doesn't waive either. |

Really helping them out, wouldn't want that pick to be too high (Not that the minion is bad, but he's an expensive backup for them) |

They’ll overpay for Kane next year during UFA. I can almost feel it. |

I think that would be a great move. That's the thing - unless you are getting a guy like Hellybuck you're really just rolling the dice with any of these guys. There are going to be a ton of guys like him available. We will get one of them.

I hope the Sabres take Savoie at 9. - PrinceChill
He's my choice too, although only 50/50 he lasts to 9. Arguably the best offensive player in the draft. if I'm KA, I know how tall his Father is, how tall his Mother is and how tall any of his older siblings (if any) are cuz I'm hoping he grows 2 or 3 inches in the next 2 years. I know 5'9" can work in the NHL but 6'0" works even better.
The only way I don't take him at 9 is if Nemec or Jiricek fall to 9, they're better players |

Throw Adin Hill and Jake Allen in there.
Not saying they're great options, but they're options. |

They've been naive and impatient with both teams. If they don't have decent attendance this season, the pressure will ramp up quickly.

Nope, that ship has sailed and too much term. Unless Boston is giving us an asset to take him

His contract is meh. 3 more years $5 million per year.
Boston doesn’t really have much in the terms of picks either.
Give me a good prospect and Ullmark at $2 million retained for say pick 41 and I would listen. But it would have to be a prospect that makes sense.
In other words I don’t see it happening. |
