One of Östlund’s many strengths is his speed and pace of play as he constantly burns opposing defences with it. He also possesses quick hands and a strong work ethic. |

It's a good pick. Could have swung bigger. - Lunaion
Incredibly average jr production in sweden does not inspire a lot of confidence. its very much an eye test pick. |

His ceiling is high. Given five minutes to think about it, I appreciate what they're doing.
You guys should too. Picking safe is lame. |

Hope he’s better than his dad because Dave blew…. |

Trade up from 28? What'll that cost, say 4 or 5 slots? |

A lot like Rosen last year. Seems they make the smart pick and then make the we really like this guy pick. |

Jerry Forton's terrible drafting has become predictable lol. The Sabres are bi polar with their picks the last two years. Half of em are clearly analytics driven, the other half? Done on the same basis of when Forton loved Jason Kasdorf. - Michael Ghofrani
Why is he a bad pick? |

If they wanted a C, it was him or Kulich.
I'm fine with it.

With what was left there scoring wise, it's a bad pick |

I mean, I cant call him a bad pick. I dont watch more than 5 mins of these dudes. I dislike the pick cause players with his output in the swe-jr. dont typically pan out.
I think they reached, because they were worried he wouldn't last till 28. They should've been okay with that. |

When are we going to get BIG? We need people to get in the corners... throw some weight around. AND WE NEED A GOALIE! |

Maybe Lambert slides all the way to 28.. wishful thinking but there’s your big and skilled |

Nice work Hank.

I don't particularly like the pick, but two positives of him
1. He was the highest climber of the draft, moving from 60th ranked to low 20's
2. he shoots left, so if he moves from center, he moves to LW; a big need for us.
Don't be stunned if Yurov and/or Lambert is available at 28, or if we trade up to get someone we really want.
I personally would like to see Ryan Chesley drafted at 28, if he's available. Think another Samuelson with much more offense and a RHD. |

Goalies don’t wanna be here. You’ll get Anderson Tokarski UPL and Subban and you will like it….
Seriously, I do hope Adam’s keeps looking for at least an average goalie. The Murray deal would have been solid. On to plan B or C… |

Wasn't he producing at over a point per game (42 in 34)?
That's not good? |
