A lot like Rosen last year. Seems they make the smart pick and then make the we really like this guy pick.

Jerry Forton's terrible drafting has become predictable lol. The Sabres are bi polar with their picks the last two years. Half of em are clearly analytics driven, the other half? Done on the same basis of when Forton loved Jason Kasdorf.

I don't particularly like the pick, but two positives of him
1. He was the highest climber of the draft, moving from 60th ranked to low 20's
2. he shoots left, so if he moves from center, he moves to LW; a big need for us.

Don't be stunned if Yurov and/or Lambert is available at 28, or if we trade up to get someone we really want.

I personally would like to see Ryan Chesley drafted at 28, if he's available. Think another Samuelson with much more offense and a RHD.
