They gambled. Again, they don't have skinners contract. He is going to be over 9 a year (if he decides to sign there).

I am not even talking about Chicago. Sabres could have beat that Cat deal by the way, and other than money it wouldn't have hurt are future. Sabres had plenty of ammunition to build for the future while helping there team now.

Yeah - I like a gamble on Lambert more, if he lasts to 28. Lambert, Kulich, Chesley or Luneau (maybe even Casey) and I'm happy. I like Howard a lot too, but I don't need another small forward

Lambert, trade up to get him. Spend a later pick to move up two spots. Worth the gamble.
