Savoie will go back to Winnipeg for one more year, but I anticipate he’ll be ready the year after
- Pegullaville

I would agree if he was 160 lbs instead of 175

if the rookie makes the club it's either bye bye casey or olofsson
- homiedclown

That's all the more reason that I think they don't want to either bring in a rookie or a high-priced vet: I think they want to get a long look at Mitts.

Sabres stocking the C position
- Buff36

It’s the most important position, and they could always move to the wing if need be

Just bc a guy is big enough, that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s “ready”

He broke his thumb in the development camp, but was back in training camp and I recall him getting a good look in pre-season games. I remember thinking they might give him a 9 game look.

I know rsh was talking about Nichols hockey yesterday, and Seth Appert's interview on the radio got me thinking about Sean Malone. Terrific year in Roch last year. If he stays healthy he should be in contention for the extra forward spot, or at the very least, he should be an early call-up.

Buffalo guy who has been through a ton of adversity and really persevered. By all accounts he plays a responsible game and had 37 points in 39 games in Roch to boot.

He can't be a worse option than Bjork

does Savoie sign a contract before the fall, and if so does he get a shot to make the big club

he has the weight for his size

- homiedclown

He signs and gets a good look at camp.

If he looks half way decent. He stays for his 9 games and gets sent back.

If it looks to be too much. He gets sent down after preseason

Malone is a career AHLer. He’s bad. By bad I mean he’s good as an AHLer because he’s somewhat skilled. (Not great) when compared to other AHL guys.

Most AHL guys are flat out wonky and not skilled. A bunch of grinders

Think of brett Murray on the Sabres or a Casey Fitzgerald fudge up

Those awkward little mishaps happen all the time in the AHL and they are normal and expected.

He ended up getting a 2 way deal with 300k in Roch. Not waiver exempt, which does put him in an odd spot. 300k makes it very likely he'd clear at the end of camp.

Depth guy, imo.

Since the Goalie is a hot topic, I just found out even though some may or may not believe me but, Adams tried to get John Gibson and Gibson said no. Just thought I would pass along.

Mittlestadt was good once he got healthy.

He had the same injury for most of the year and it didn’t heal until he got surgery.

Once he got back into shape he was fine.

Most people who didn’t watch the season wouldn’t know that

I appreciate the input - I haven't seen him play a lot so im not super familiar with his game. Seth Appert said he was next in line for a call-up before his injury. It's been awhile since the Sabres have had a Buffalo guy on the roster and I wonder if he could sneak through if he has a great camp.

He would have to beat out Ruotsalainen, Bjork and Murray.
