Unreal

They're going to have to pay him big money soon but you gotta think Chicago is going to blow it up now

- Stripes77

I would think, they could go into this draft with no 1st and walk out with 3 depending on if Kane and even maybe Murphy are moved.

I would've traded 16 and our 2nd for Debrincat all day
- bluengold12

He is going to get $9 million per year his next contract though which is the issue with any team getting him, cant believe Chicago moved him for that especially knowing they'll have cap space when Toews and Kane leave.

He also is one year away from RFA which his qualifying contract is $9 million and he can go to arbitration if he doesn't like it, get a 1 year deal and leave as a UFA. It's a big risk too

That’s not really an equivalent deal though right?

He needs an elite playmaker to play with to get 40.

Lets see if he can do it without a Kane to play with

Market for wingers is so much lower these last few years. Buchnevich is a legit first liner and he got moved for TDL type return

Sure but that doesn’t mean he’s gonna get 9 million on a long-term deal

Sure he will, especially now that he has leverage over them.
If he was a center I think KA may have considered it. But given that he is a wing AND we have to pay some of these kids at some point... it just doesn't make sense for us. Apparently a lot of the league felt the same way seeing as he didn't get the 4 pieces that Chicago was supposedly asking for. The market for wingers (especially RFA wingers) isn't great. If it weren't for the Skinner contract we might have been interested.

He's a 40 goal scorer who is 24 years old, he was almost a ppg player last season. Has scored 73 goals over the last two seasons (one of which is a shortened season). 73 goals in his last 134 games.

He scores another 40 this year he is getting north of $9 million

Sure now we do, but you have to pay Dahlin, Tage, Power, Quinn, etc

Yes not all of them are going to be big money, but you have to be careful, as mentioned before if he was a center I think KA would have been all over it.
