Can’t force players to waive to come here

Sabres are still a work in progress

- jdfitz77

they build mount rushmore quicker then we have spent building this team

We went after 7th overall.
- Michael Ghofrani

And got slapped in the face, just really shows how bad the perception of the Sabres is. It's actually embarrassing.

But that doesn’t fit his narrative,
so he conveniently left it out of his post

I think you would agree that nobody has a real idea as to what the Sabres really have aside from a bunch of prospects with promise, right?

The talk of a championship window seems ridiculous, especially when saying in the not too distant future, considering the Sabres management even admit they don't know what they have, and the team hasn't made the (frank)ing playoffs in over a decade.

It's hard to talk championship when the team doesn't have any elite players in the organization. Closest thing is probably Dahlin but that still feels closer to hope than a guaranteed thing

I get it, I really do but, you have to wait and see how Adams turns this thing around. From what i was told the attitude and locker room needed changing first, I think we all know that. Eichel and his bad attitude is gone, so now he focuses and changing the team for the better after 3 GM's failed to do so.

if ever to get a young all star for pennies on the dollar with 40 mil in cap space, this was the time to take a swing IMO given our roster and prospects and picks

We should of traded the Josh Allen pick for Jimmy G so we could of made the playoffs in 2017 because we were taking to long. Am I doing this right?

It shows that Adams KNEW it would be hard to get a goalie to come here
*just like it was last year*

So he was SMART, and signed Anderson- Just in case- while he went about looking for other potential goalies

Maybe u guys can all calm down now that you’ve seen proof Adams isn’t trying to come back with an Anderson/Tokarski tandem

They really need to swing big on some high risk/reward players with their picks.

IF HE HAS CONTROL AND ITS A BIG IF

40 mil in cap space
all these draft picks, prospects and young players would make 99 percent of the gm's drooling

they have no desire to improve the team for the next 12 months

wasting another year of dahlin and tuch and skinner

IDK about all that... Maybe Murray doesn't like Wings? There are not that many teams that can take on his celery, maybe we still get him for an even better return, who knows...

I think our play over the last third of the season gives us a pretty good idea of what we have. And that's with mediocre goaltending. Not all of the kids will pan out but if you through enough assets at it you're going to be in the conversation. Our pipeline was said to be 12 - 15 players deep according to Pronman and that's before the draft. I am fine seeing how it pans out and I don't need a second $9 million dollar winger so that I can get myself into a mess later. If the guy was signed for many years for less money I would have gladly taken him on. That's the main reason that he didn't get a bigger return - his salary is going to be prohibitive.

Guys like him are available every year. You have no idea if that’s the plan next year. Hint, it is

Let's not pretend Anderson was signing anywhere else... He's not exactly a hot commodity... And what does it tell you that it's so hard to sign even marginally decent players to come here???

That's pretty much it. The Bills plan was to take a step back and then build. They made the playoffs the first year when they were actively trying to not put the best roster out there. Why can't Adams have the same leash?

It takes time to draft and develop a GM. It's what they had in mind when they built the Harborcenter.

Exactly! We're wasting years of the good players we have on the assumption that the prospects we have are the saviors and not the next Justin Bailey and Hudson Faschings...

I do understand people’s overall frustration
But no one can rebuild this team the right way in just a year or 2

It’s gonna take Adams some time

And he’s not (likely) gonna be able to get a “Franchise goalie” to come here & save the day

It’s gonna be a stopgap until we can develop a legit starter- UPL, Levi, or Portillo
