We need to answer all of this tonight?
- Slump Buster

Half the things he’s ranting about can’t even happen. free agency didn’t start yet but we were supposed to offer MAF a contract? Some people go insane on draft day…

We will be fine. Our top 4 in the NHL are 22 and under. He will snag a few in the draft and lots of picks next year too
- Fattony1187

All true. It would be worse if we were desperate for too 4 but that seems to be covered unless we want to upgrade from Joker. Can also flip forwards as needed in trades

One thing we can all agree on

The number 1 prospect pool just got better

Wierd. After the season this was the almost 100% agreed upon shopping list:
Goalie
RD
Legit Top 6 wing

We draft 3 centers, no goalie still, and pass on a top 3 wing anywhere in the NHL let alone a top 6 Sabre.

Edit: Some of us root for the Sabres some of us root for the Sabres prospect pool.

You can use the 9 million we would need for cat and sign Kane next year and give up zero assets in the process. Like you are stuck in moves could only been done today and time freezes 😂😂

Chesley, Luneau, and Odelius still around. You know KA's trying to move up.
- Lunaion

There are many quality players still available, including many forwards such as Goyette, Trikozov, Firkus, and Adam Sykora.

I'd take another forward if one of them is available and focus on defense and goaltending after pick 41.

As much as I agree that those are the needs, the draft was never going to be the place to solve that problem. Hockey's draft is like baseball. Your needs today won't likely mirror those when these guys are ready to play at the NHL level. You also can't have too many centers in your system.

Always someone you can give that money to if you want. Point remains the same. 9 million will prob get you the top FA signing AND we will have savoie and Kulich on our team over spending it on cat and giving up picks.

Plus cat might of left us after the year and then we have nothing

He won't unless we trade up. But with Chelsey, Luneau, Casey and a few other RHD in range, they should be able to get a good one. Forwards I like at 41 are Hughes, Schaefer, Perevalov (some like him better than Yurov),
- turbo044

Reid Schaefer was picked at 32.

You mentioned forwards but somehow missed Firkus, Goyette, Sykora, Trikozov, and Del Bel Belluz who I would take over all the forwards you mentioned.

I think that might be tomorrow. Curious that he used the word honesty when talking about it

Kulich is more a LW than a center and if Savoie doesend uo being a center, he ends up being a LW. Got to think trade for a goalie, certainly won't solve that problem in the draft. step back from tht ledge my friend....

They would need to attach giant compensation to get rid of Jones. It seems that 9 million dollar contracts don't go away easily....
- Slump Buster

Jones contract is $9.5M per for 8 years.

That's on another planet of bad compared to Skinner's.

41? Yes. Next year, No.
- Lunaion

Way too many quality players still available, at both forward and defense.

I'd try to trade up to add another early 2nd round pick if I were them.

When value aligns with need, it's an easy pick. Unless there's a run on D and they can't move up, I think that's where they go.

I don't think they want to make 11 picks and are working hard to move up, likely targeting Chesley. Just my guess.

Yeah, but it would cost a TON to get rid of either. Salary cap space is an asset.

It is the age old question. Is your gm better than than simply getting a ton of picks?
