They better do all of that before faceoff. Next game is tomorrow, right?
- Slump Buster

They most assuredly passed on DeBrincat today. They most assuredly missed out on MAF today. They definitely chose to use 3 assets on center rather than trading any of them for goalie today. They definitely chose to use three picks on center rather than trading one for a rostered NHL RD today.

This can all be fixed with big FA moves. You think that happens? Me neither.

It is the age old question. Is your gm better than than simply getting a ton of picks?

It's true, we still have no idea if KA is any good at this.

I also question how much of it is him. Nightingale is heavily involved, I think ventura is to a lesser extent. Then there's the two headed dinosaur of Forton and Devine.

MAF was a free agent signing? I missed that. I thought it started next week It was also interesting to find out that you can only get goalies via free agency. I learn new stuff all of the time thanks to this forum. We need to wake up Adams and tell him to go out and get a free agent tender before the music stops.

When value aligns with need, it's an easy pick. Unless there's a run on D and they can't move up, I think that's where they go.

I don't think they want to make 11 picks and are working hard to move up, likely targeting Chesley. Just my guess.

- Lunaion

I hope they aren't looking to move up from 41, and instead are looking to add another 2nd round pick above 41 while keeping their 41st overall pick.

All true, but he could still Murray it. It is still ultimately his team and his decision.

I think Ventura has a much larger voice with the organization than you seemed to indicate above.

I'm assuming his point is that it's not really the GM behind these picks and that KA has to show more than acquiring picks to be successful....and soon.

In general I think you're right, Im not sure about the draft. I do know that nightingale's new role focuses on scouting more. I just wish they'd move on from the guys who've been there since 2014.

I'd bet they are looking into both....aggressively. They have picks they need to burn.

They may move some roster players instead. Or players already drafted.

Very easy to make it known to a player there's money waiting for him. Instead he's playing for half what we could have offered. But hey, we're gonna trade for soemone with a sub .900 save % so nobody's feelings get hurt at the NCAA or AHL level.

You think we'll get Gibson or Talbot or anyone respectable? We could. We have 7 1st round centers under 25 in our organization. 7 1st round centers and not one NHL goalie.

Word is out that Minnesota is going to talk with Talbot tomorrow about being a split starter with MAF.

If he isn't on board with that, which he may not be, he'll be a trade target.

Yes, I do. It's a lot harder to find good centers available.

I'd be surprised by that. They've shown no ability to make actual decisions on their own guys under KA. I don't expect that to start tonight. I'd love to be wrong.

Oh i dont think it will happen this week...or even this off season, but I think eventually some of these bubble players (both NHL and minor league) will get moved in 2 for 1 or even 3 for 1 deals.

He hade a decision to let the kids play and not make hasty decisions to give up on the kids. Those are decisions.

It's just shocking that he's going to get 3 seasons to just passively watch many of these guys.

He had to right the ship from the diaster he took over and then make the biggest trade in our history. Again, best odds of winning a cup is through the draft.

I think it's crazy to give the GM a pass for the horrendous GM decisions.
