i actually think they care more about 'blocking' upl than those two.
- TheSabresTaco

I swear this is the only team that cares about that.

their play will define how serious they are. they don't need to rex ryan the media. if im a player, i care more about what i saw in april than some guy saying how much he wants to win on tv.
- TheSabresTaco

This is the chicken and egg dilemma. Their play should speak for itself, fair enough. They finished 24th so they will have a hard time attracting talent. They will have a hard time improving (especially in net) if they don't attract talent.

So what now? This is where I think the GM needs to come out and say, we need to do better, although Kevyn Adams does not say he has expectations for how they finish a year other than to talk about growth.

Lord knows I mocked Botterill mercilessly for "Meaningful Games In March" but at least it was a bar.

This group does not talk about winning as an important thing which is somewhat bonkers bananas.

They’re standing pat this year… belief is that Levi will have a great opportunity next year.

Washington wants a change and Samsonov is the bigger investment. You think they'd rather trade him than V?

Call them back and see if they're still interested in moving him for next years first... Flip to Tor for Robertson, pick Chesley at 41 (he drops because I've now let the hockey world know he's got an attitude problem) pack it in, call it a day, let your overseas scouts make the rest of the picks while your drinking cheap Champaign. You are welcome.

How could they make that move?

Aren't they concerned about angering Cossa...?

I wonder how this will play out and who will be the first to knock the bruins or leafs off their post

I hear what you're saying. They want to win. I know they do, but their priority is clearly putting young, inexperienced guys in challenging positions to develop them, because that's what this roster dictates. We all want to be the Lightning but we don't want to take the time to do it. This group is not getting better individually with a better goalie and a middle 6 forward added to it.

I have long advocated for better goaltending and it's necessary not to press for a playoff run, but to provide confidence and wins to a young team trying to establish a strong foothold in the top half of the league.

So now, not just Ottawa but Detroit too has improved thier NHL team. Playoffs just got that much harder to get into in the East. Your move, KA. You have all the money in the world and the super #1 prospect pool in the NHL.

My opinion. See how he does with a good player maker instead of an elite one.
