Adams when we sign Martin Jones to a 1 year deal

"You know, we kicked the tires on other guys, but they didn't work out. We're focused on the guys in our building. Martin wants to be here and is ready to compete. We feel good about the veteran presence him and Craig will be bringing in the locker room for our young guys."

I’d have to imagine that was our ticket of trading up that Gerbe was alluding to yesterday.

Murray and 7 OA for 16 would have been nice

- Pegullaville

I was thinking that it might have been a swap of 7 and 9. I think swapping 7 and 16 would be too much.

Hearing OTT & BUF were deep into conversations about a Matt Murray trade. Sabres are on his No-trade list, and Murray — as his his contractual right — stuck to his list.

Yep.... all beta.

This kid could be an NHL starter this year if he were driven enough, and he's worried about college. I just find that laughable. Yes, I understand it's the rarest of rare for a young goalie, but wtf, man, are you a killer or not? Are you Kobe Bryant, or are you a little scared college boy? Levi has an incredible opportunity- if he had the balls to want it - almost no young goalie is ever presented. The fact he's not interested in the least....he'll NEVER be great because he doesnt want to be. Maybe he'll be good, but a great player would be yelling at the Sabres for this job. They would have to stop him.

Get me a guy who wants to be the best in the world. He doesn't.

- lacaprup

Levi spelled out why he was going back to college. Like it or not, he wanted to get to a certain place in his playing and he didn't feel he was there yet. In that sense I give him credit for sticking to his guns and following his own personal plan.

I suspect that they had to couple the NTC with an overpayment to get him to sign there in the first place. Everyone thought it was a bad signing at the time.

Might today be a bit more exciting than maybe we had planned? It would seem that KA would really be out there beating the bushes.

What you just said, it's pretty much a slap in the face. Not that I wanted him, but this should be a eye opener on how far down the perception of the Sabres really is.

People ready to proclaim Levi the next Miller are off their rockers. Guy played great in one year of college hockey... He's minimum 3 years away from being an NHL starter. Our GM should be trying to make the team better now. I'm glad I'm not a season ticket holder.

That quote is taken pretty much verbatim from other press conferences Adams has. He is a PR speak GM who won't call it like it is. I hope he proves me wrong and we get a solid goaltender this year

People just want to see him play in Roch. Nobody is expecting him to be the second coming. We all want everything now.

I mean add 41 if it makes you feel better but if they would have retained no salary I think that’s the ball park offer because that contract is pretty bad

Does the GM of the Avs tell it like it is? What about the Lightning, Rangers or Oilers?

Nope they all speak like that. So why are you telling him to leave? Fell into some round logic there didn't ya? Too bad, you were so close to getting a funny today.

TMGM is the only GM in the history of the world who "tells it like it is", and that's not a compliment. Their job isn't to "tell it like it is".

The deal between Ottawa and Buffalo would have included the Sens retaining salary and Buffalo flipping the 16th pick for the 7th.

Holy s, hopefully KA figures out a way to get that done. Geez, that would be a great deal.
