Yeah, guess him and Portillo will be at Prospects Camp
- Buff36

He's reiterated that several times over the past weeks and months so I'm not surprised. Newest info is that RJ wants to see buffalo and the org before making a decision. Which honestly is better than just saying (frank) you.

I mean something that happened 13 years ago...

He's married, has a kid now, his parents still live in Buffalo.

One of his sisters got married a few years ago, you'd think they'd have children soon, and anyone who grew up in South Buffalo knows your first best friend is one of your cousins.

Not saying it's gonna happen but I am not going to say it won't happen.

if they can get kane on the cheap in a trade, do they pivot for their plans this summer

trying to be positive today

If they can get Kane for Mitts and a 2nd so Chicago can feel okay about getting bent over backwards I would do it.

But then Adams would have to try like all hell to get a proper NHL goalie in here

Because I would think if the Hawks trade him this year he’s going to a team that he’s going to finish out his career with
- ImThatGuy

I don't think this is true or even necessarily likely. With these kinds of trades the team will hold celery so as to maximize the amount of teams that can take on his remaining contract. If a team like Tampa squeezes him in there is no way (well, almost no way - it is Tampa after all) that they could then pay him 10 mill the following season.

Correct, but I don't think it makes sense to add him this off season unless you get a goalie and want to sell some major tickets
- Stripes77

Not saying I don't want him
But I ain't paying his worth this year

Nobody should be paying his worth this year.

Especially if he really wants to use his NMC to waive to only 1 place (not saying that is the case) but if there are 2-3 teams he would waive for they're not going to get into a bidding war because they'll be cap strapped, Chicago would have to eat Kane's salary AND take a cap dump back.

If Chicago wants anything for him they have to be smart about it.

if playing with dahlin, samuelsson, power, krebs, tage, tuch, skinner, quinn, peterka, savoie, cozens, etc doesn't excite him

then F him

same for portillo

On the trio of first-round picks, Forton said all three will be an “absolute pain in the ass to play against” once they reach the NHL. Love their competitiveness, in addition to all the skill.

they could probably get Varlamov for a third, if they wanted to fix the goalie short term

Exactly

So now, it's on Kane to either play out his time and get dealt at the deadline to a Cup Contender and sign where ever which will keep his legacy in Chicago on the best of terms, or he tells Chicago I am only going to team X right now, which could damage his legacy a bit.

However it seems all of Chicago expects Kane to want out and don't blame him for it.

Which is harder to do at the moment?

Get Kane to waive to come home or to get a decent goalie to waive to come here?

OH MAN

Love me some GM versus agent drama (he also didn't say poop)

Really liked our draft, from what you can tell of 18 year olds. KA does not like Dmen though. 23 picks on his watch, 1 goalie, 17 forwards and 5 Dman, is my count

Yeah the one thing they need to start adding for the future is more blue liners, but let's remember the offense prospect cupboard was damn near empty when he took over
