Said this before but it looks like #5 is a great spot to be, unless they go off the board here, should be a solid player falling to us.

#2 looked like a great spot to be in 2017.

Dream scenario if Cutter goes at #3 and somebody like Cooley drops to #5.

Lets hope the Yotes didn't learn their lesson after Lawson Crouse.

Kind of a joke in asking because the excitement will be surround the draft tonight but yes, I am going. I’m relieved this movie is coming out today instead of watching the draft in it’s entirety. The draft is either hit or miss for me. The Provorov and Konency draft was a hit for me. Even picked up a waitress later that night, which rare but happened.

Cooley or Jirichek. Jirichek may be able to step in immediately. Cooley and Cutter will be down the road.

This is the least excited I’ve been for an offseason in a long time.

They are going to totally butcher this. It’s so obviously clear what they should do and they refuse to do it.

I think we could use a Lawson Cruise right now but I understand your point. What a miss on Matthew Barzel. Expect the Yokes to be the Yokes this evening.

I’m Jirichek first as the most realistic pick. Cooley. Frank Nazar really does look like an interesting choice.

The only thing that I'm sure of is that whoever they select will struggle mightily to overcome the Flyer's horrid developmental program. Well, that and Fletcher's inevitable move of an asset to unload JVR's contract in full so he can lock up another unnecessary vet or 2 to long term deals.

SELL THE TEAM!

I really don't think we want any of these kids stepping into this mess immediately. Turn another promising talent into a stunted Provorov .

It's going to be Cutter. His 200 ft game is on point. Big Body. Middle name is Sandpaper. Too good to be true.

With the caveat that most draftees do not reach their developmental ceiling.

Most flyers draft picks have trouble hitting their developmental floor.

Until said player drafted tonight is on the ice producing for the Flyers, I have zero faith they will get this correct. They haven't earned any benefit of the doubt.

To the Flyers' credit, the mocks ALWAYS have them taking some big power forward... but they've mostly avoided the Lawson Crouse and Max Jones types with their top picks.

Sam Morin was something different.

Frost , Tk, JOB, Brink. These are all high picks from the Flyers, this 200 foot thing is nonsense

Hextall did for sure. What about the old guard that is back in control now?

I think Button hit the nail on the head with the Max Pacioretty comparison, which I think is more accurate than McKeen's Jeff Carter comparison. The knee-jerk reactors may have called ca. draft year Pacioretty a "stupid" pick, too, because he hadn't yet become a prospect that was a clear-cut future (5-time) 30-goal scorer in the NHL.

There are about 10 different prospects who could be justified this year with the fifth pick in a class where most everyone has some question marks and no one is a slam-dunk franchise player.

With Gauthier, I am note sure if he handles and distributes the puck well enough to be a top center in the NHL. But I do think he can become a productive winger and a better goal scorer than some think he'll be. Pacioretty level is a ceiling. But there are similarities at age 18.

When it comes to Morin, Patrick, O'brien, Rubstov, is it a case of ruining, or is it drafting guys who can't play?

Hell, Frost may end up being a bust too. That is 5 first round picks, they have literally gotten nothing out of.
