They usually play it safe with high picks, it's in the team DNA. Not surprised.

You think that was difference between Provy and Werenski? I was pumped when we got Provy, that top 10/12 guys in that draft ended up being loaded

ek's website does this every year on probably his biggest night for website hits, what a terrible business man

as far as the pick goes, give it time he may pan out but yes, the stupid meaningless wins probably will cost them in the long run

Typical classy response by your loser self! I find it really hilarious when someone FINALLY confronted you to make a statement instead of just ripping the Flyers that you came up with that dumbass answer. That guy would have been my last choice!! Why don't you stick to following those loser Sixas! LOSER!!

- Phillywhiteout

Your response was classy? Is that what you did? Confronted him?

let's wait for bill's analysis of the pick, he's objective and won't sugar coat it, and i know some folks here think he's in cahoots with the flyers management but he's our best source on this
- monty burns

In all honesty not as much since he’s started working for them imo

Chicago has more sense than the flyers. Be honest know your team and if your going to aggressive retool just know you have to get very very lucky or be a middle of the road team.
The flyers aren’t lucky.
As far as the pick. I’m fine with it.
People are going to beyotch no matter what.
Knock on him is that he shoots TOO much lol.

What inside info do you have that Seattle was open to a trade?
- bird_dog_pa

Didn’t say Seattle was open and I used the word “apparently” but it certainly appears that CF makes no real effort. I have zero faith in him and this management. The Flyers have become the Cleveland Browns of the NHL. Not too much ahead of the Arizona “NHL” team. Extremely dissatisfied

He’s pretty darn objective for an employee, some folks want him to tear them down to shreds in a scathing rant which is just unrealistic and foolish

i think provorov has stagnated a little bit developmental wise, but i think that reflects more on their ability to bring him along as a player rather than him not being a good draft pick, if that makes sense. he may not have been the longest of home runs but that was a pick that is much closer to nailing it than striking out.

One, how do you know? Two, why would Seattle swap picks and for what?
- MJL

Two Cheesesteaks (Pat"s and Gino's)

Flyers get the 4th and a rotting corpse of a phish that laid on the floor for a bit and was shipped to them in a box car with no refrigeration

chuckles wins

bias for action

I have no issue win the draft pick and it was a good one. Just saying Provy was more a complete guy than Werenski is. The safer pick if you will.

I don’t expect that but he’s jumped in to defend the franchise a lot more recently than he ever has in the decade or so I’ve been here

Bill shouldn’t be the focus tho. The franchise is a rudderless ship lost in time.

Yeah, Provy was the safer, more "nhl ready" pick on D. Werenski was already locked into going to Michigan.

It's gonna be interesting to compare Cutter vs Jiricek down the road. Hopefully the Jackets don't get the better of the Flyers again.

Definitely, but you have to hit on your picks and this teams MO is missing on their picks or hitting and ruining them (TK and Provorov). We are better off with our GM and scouts not making selections…unfortunately they are just as bad at assessing current NHL players for free agency or trades.
