Can we all agree, at least, that we Flyers fans are all a bit surly because we hate what the organization has become? - mikeyo27
After reading up on all pre draft rankings, Bill Meltzer blogs, & professional scouts on HB…I wanted one of the RH Defenseman…both sound like they had top 4 ceiling & possibly top 1…I was also ok with swinging for fences with a Nazar pick…I think what I’m getting at is the Flyers have so many holes to fill that they can’t go wrong with a top 5 pick (whatever was available at the time they made that pick)…Kid has size…has a good personality from interview I just heard. I’ll wait to see what happens with it all…I guess before losing my poop over an 18 year old getting selected 5th overall[/img] |

Basically the 90s Islanders at this point. Sigh. - hereticpride
The 90's Islanders were a decade removed from 4 consecutive Cups, these Flyers bottom feeders are on the ass end of half a century. |

No, I'm always arguing. Do you have any value to contribute? Maybe we can argue about something. - MJL
How do you keep up with all the arguments you have with people? Is a pen and paper involved, or do you have 200 tabs opened on your browser? lol
Nothing personal, bud ... just thought it was funny how often I see you arguing on here. Ciao.
Go Flyers.

It's sincerely hilarious that MJL stirs the pot with a strong premise that is reliant on a conclusion that is in opposition to Meltzer's information. On the same day constructs calling out a poster on the premise that he doesn't know what goes on internally.
It's like they say the narcissist is the hero and the victim of every story. It's funny, however, how they tell on tell on themselves. - Lip_Out
You are incorrect. My take is not in opposition to Meltzer's information. I don't believe that Clarke and others are involved in the day to day operations of the Flyers. You need to get your facts straight.

It's pretty simple. I read a post and then comment on it if I feel so inclined.

Apparently he reminds Hexy of Sanheim, according to Sportsnet. - Tomahawk
haha way to simultaneously cause both fanbases to somehow twitch about the pick i suppose.
if he was sanheim thats still not a bad pick there. i just would have rather it was used in a trade |

The last thing the Flyers needed was to draft another player with an injury history after the 2017 draft debacle, but you can't see that cause you are a world class dumbass. Thanks yet again! Are you finished yet? - Phillywhiteout
So you shouldn't draft a player who had an injury in junior level hockey? What if the player is completely recovered and shows no lingering effects.

So Nolan Patrick didn't work out so that means that you shouldn't draft a player who has had an injury previously?

I don’t know if I have an issue with the pick, as much as I’m not clear on the direction of the player.
It sounds like his natural position is left wing, where he very much plays a wing style but he’ll be playing center at Boston College next season? He’s a goal scorer who hasn’t scored a lot in recent seasons? His puck handling and passing is questionable, which tells me he’s gonna need a puck handling passer to set him up maybe? I’m happy to hear he’s a hard worker because it sounds like he may have a lot to work on.
I’m always willing to give our high draft picks a chance. It’s just the discrimination of this young player I can’t keep up with. |

we will see. its not an easy spot for him.
i dont think its completely dissimilar from the position where he was with you guys when you had peak giroux and jake and the gang. current team really isnt good enough to get over the hump and you can tell hed rather look to the future but for reasons above his head (be it ownership, fans, financial) he needs to really look towards the now. one foot in the door one foot out the door and ends up successfully going in neither direction.
im not saying the guy is a savant but i think he needs to go somewhere with lower expectations and he gets 5 years to turn a bottom feeder into a well positioned team to the future without the expectation to balance immediate returns.
that being said, ill join the lot of you on this board who want to burn him in effigy if malkin walks over something petty/insignificant. |
