G might be really looking at the Sens now...
- wcorvette

I think that move increased the chances of G going to the Sens.

Do you have any 70 year olds in your life, or did you at any point? They are horrible with phones, he’s not masterminding anything from his back deck. Try and just think for a second.
- ClaudeFather

So your rebuttal is that 70 year old people are terrible with phones? It's a stereotype not to mention an unintelligent argument. Nobody has stated that Clarke is masterminding anything. Again, an unintelligent statement.

Chuck isn't going anywhere. If anything, he will relinquish the GM role and stay on as President of Hockey Ops. Briere is going to night school for the job as we speak.
- StepfordSam

No, he will be gone.

The fact that people think Clarke is running the show from his deck in Florida just points to the ignorance and stupidity of this comment section. It’s not surprising in the least. Props to your Gram.

The fact that you think that people think that Clarke is running the show is the true ignorance and stupidity here.

I think G remains with the Panthers. Duclair being out for an extended period of time increased those chances dramatically in my opinion.

they have real cap challenges to make that happen, the have HUB who is due a new contract and they need to address their D, living in SFL, I hope they pull it off and I hope they win the cup. It will have to do until the Flyers get their shxt together.

If that was the best offer it just shows you no one was quite comfortable with his soon to be UFA status.
- arichardson22

Devils balked at trading 2OA. Flyers balked at trading 5OA. Senators up next, I suppose.

Also have a horrid back end. The playoffs was ugly for the Panthers, could see him not wanting to go back. Zito also blew a bunch of assets for the playoff run, they have some serious work to do.

A GM with a good team should target Reinhart and Bennett.

Evidence? Where's your evidence? Bill was nice enough to give actual first-hand information and you don't want to listen to it. I don't know how much more clear Bill can be. The blame for where this team is falls on Scott and Fletcher.
- Dkos

First of all, Bill's information is not first hand. He is not present in the meetings nor is he behind the scenes in the inner workings of the Flyers. He presents what he is told. He's told what they want him to know.

All you have to do is look and see how the Flyers operate. Listen to the comments in the press conferences. A simple question is, when Scott comments that he wants an action bias GM. Wants to be a cap team. Thinks that the team can get right back in it in two years. Wants to be aggressive in winning now. Where does that come from? As Bill pointed out, Scott is not a hockey guy. Has no experience in running an NHL team. So how is his philosophy formed? Not hard to figure out. I guess we're supposed to believe that Fletcher was just hired on his hockey resume. Which isn't very good.

You're right, the blame for this team falls on Scott and Fletcher. It also falls on those who are influencing and are responsible for the foundations and philosophies that this franchise runs on.

I don’t see how they solidify their defense without moving someone up top. Not sure who’s available D wise in free agency. Zito really went hard in the rental market.

You think DeBrincat would put this roster any closer to competing any time soon?

Well everyone always asks where is the high end elite talent/goal scoring. DeBrincat would be a start.

Don’t be shocked if the Hawks look to move up now.

Jones and 7 to Seattle for 4+ makes some sense both ways.

Of course not but that doesn't make it difficult to read the tea leaves to know what is going on. You don't seem to understand what influence is. Make an intelligent rebuttal or keep making Hextall comments. Your choice.

It would satisfy the action bias crowd. Good move for Ottawa for 2 years. Maybe they can flip him in 2 years. Ottawa should fix their top 4D before they think about Giroux.
