Good start. DeBrincat is an excellent player. And I hope the player the Flyers get can be nearly as good. But the timing was terrible and the impending free agency…. it just was going to be a big mistake, despite loving the idea of having the player.
I say the exact thing in regards to Gaudreau. |

Don’t be shocked if the Hawks look to move up now.
Jones and 7 to Seattle for 4+ makes some sense both ways. - hereticpride

Of course not but that doesn't make it difficult to read the tea leaves to know what is going on. You don't seem to understand what influence is. Make an intelligent rebuttal or keep making Hextall comments. Your choice. - MJL
So you’re reading tea leaves from your house and know more than Bill who’s in the building and talking to these people, forming his own opinions. Got it. Your ignorance is unmatched. |

First of all, Bill's information is not first hand. He is not present in the meetings nor is he behind the scenes in the inner workings of the Flyers. He presents what he is told. He's told what they want him to know.
All you have to do is look and see how the Flyers operate. Listen to the comments in the press conferences. A simple question is, when Scott comments that he wants an action bias GM. Wants to be a cap team. Thinks that the team can get right back in it in two years. Wants to be aggressive in winning now. Where does that come from? As Bill pointed out, Scott is not a hockey guy. Has no experience in running an NHL team. So how is his philosophy formed? Not hard to figure out. I guess we're supposed to believe that Fletcher was just hired on his hockey resume. Which isn't very good.
You're right, the blame for this team falls on Scott and Fletcher. It also falls on those who are influencing and are responsible for the foundations and philosophies that this franchise runs on. - MJL
What is wrong with you dude, do you always wake up with a stick up your A#$?
All you do is hate, why are you even on the board? You certainly not a flyers fan. |

The betting websites show Wright's price as the #1 pick dropping by the minute. Something is up. - PLindbergh31
Maybe because the Slovakian kid ate breakfast this morning with the owner of the Habs and their GM? |

Nemec? Cooley? Hawks need to think about building a future core with where they’re at. |

Bill is arguing that Clarke and company are not involved in the day to day operations. I don't believe that they are and have not stated that they are. I also have not stated that I know more about the day to day operations than Bill does either. Again, you have a reading comprehension issue. |

I’d probably do that too. I’m guessing they’re looking to get into the top 3 tho |

It’s honestly as simple as Comcast wants butts in the seats but you are conjuring up this scenario where the old guard is telling Scott that this team is ready to win now. Stop being so dramatic. |

Nope, you still have it incorrect. I have not stated that the old guard is telling Scott that this team is ready to win now.

Where the disconnect is Bill, is that people aren't saying that they're actively engaged. Don't have to be actively engaged to have influence. The evidence is overwhelming that the Flyers are stuck in the stone ages and haven't evolved with the modern day NHL. Until the old guard is removed and those who are influenced by them. The Flyers will not succeed. - MJL
Influence, tell, whatever you want to call it MJL. You love to try and spin things on wording technicalities. It’s not some far fetched over aching influence of old Flyers culture. Just let it goZ |

It's not a wording technicality. You don't have to be involved in the day to day operations to have significant influence. If you have influenced the philosophy and path that the team is going to take as well as who is hired to actually run the day to day operations. You have significant influence.
Your best argument is that Clarke is in Florida and 70 year old people can't operate cell phones.

You’re over thinking it. Why would they dump all this money in advanced analytics, is that what the old influence did? Seems relatively new to me. |

That's like saying why dump money into scouting. Analytics have been around for over a decade. Again, I don't believe that Clarke and other members of the country club are involved in day to day operations such as what players to acquire. |

Dude, youve complained about clarke influence for months now, now you are trying to minimize it because you cant admit someone knows more about the situation tthan you. Or admit that you just speculate but try to constantly pass it on as fact. Get a life |

It’s honestly insane. Comcast wants a competitive hockey team, it’s not hard to figure out. |

It's usually a top-60/90 pick to move up a couple of spots in the top-10.
Kirby Dach is worth a bit more than that.
