So, I guess it sounds greedy and a little impractical to wonder if Dorion might also put in an offer on Matthew Tkachuk? - spatso

Do you think that might have something to do with Leafs wanting to come back to talk about Murray.

Absolutely. It would be dumb not to if he were available. The buzz you would generate of having the Tkachuk ‘s playing together would be awesome.
At what cost though? The Sens are at a point where they’re giving big money to guys who haven’t even taken us to a wild card position. The last thing you wanna do is be stuck with a bunch of 7-10m dollar players without having anything to show for it.
They still need a long term solution in net and they still need a couple of dmen. - Trilla
I agree! Brady and Chabot have got to go! And if Norris asks for more than 7 get rid of him too. He hasn't taken us to the playoffs either. Same with Stutzle when his turn comes and then Sanderson when his turn comes. How much time should we give DeBrincat?
I like your solid no nonsense thinking, Trilla. |

it adds to the leafs desperation, Kuemper going to WSH take one more G off the market for trade and UFA, i also think Cambell might already have a destination in mind which is why leafs looking hard elsewhere
i also find it funny and curious that none of the G want to play in TOR |

from this very blog man...
UPDATED - The Yotes are asking for 2023 1st round pick unprotected, JBD and Sokolov. I was told AZ asked for Brannstrom too, to acquire Chychrun. Yotes are maintaining they want 4 pieces for him.....Sens offering 3 pieces.....Yotes have countered asking for the Sens 2nd rd pick they got from TB.
and yes they gonna push hard for Giroux - Mithos
I would do a top ten protected 2023 first, Brannstrom, Sokolov and somebody like Hamonic or MDZ or Jarventie or Senyshyn or some such. The Sens have too few good prospects to give any of them away. |

Ultimate irony bidding war between Buffalo and Toronto for Murray and Murray indicates he prefers to play in Buffalo.

uggg capfriendly filled with ACGM of OTT trading theur 2023 1st to TOR to take Murray saying OTT was gonna trade 7th to Buf to dump murray not having read that it was essentially a 3 way trade with CHI getting 16th + for Cat... |

Understand. But Murray has now come out and said he might be interested in going to Buffalo. I assume that is an "I'm sorry" statement pushed by his agent. Will it be good enough for Adams? - spatso
Post it where he said that?

If your GM trades Murray and a 1st rd pick plus retains salary to Toronto, he should be fired on the spot. He buys out Colin White, yet again wasting money on nothing to make up for his mistake, same thing with Murray, retain salary to fix a mistake. You guys Del Zotto and Zaitsev sitting there as mistakes. Your GM keeps putting dollars out the door for mistakes but what's coming back to the team? Man, I hope your GM doesn't screw up these 3 misfits and the dollars out the door for nothing in return.

Is there a context for this comment.
General consensus of the draft was that Dorion blew the doors out in his trade for Debrincat. Belief is he is still hot to want to complete a deal for Chychrun and sign Giroux as a UFA.
Are you just trying to mess up the mood. Sens fans are feeling good right now. why are you trying to mess with us?

Since the Sens are happily willing to pay DeBrincat a whopping $9 million next season, a long term deal seems extremely realistic. Man, I suddenly feel like I'm covering a different franchise.
A thought provoking reflection. |

His agent has never spoken to the media. So you are making this up. No wonder nobody wants you on the Leafs boards at the site, you think you can preach and control everything and if someone doesn't agree with you, you get your old man pants in a knot, it is actually quite pathetic. People can have their opinions that is what sports talk is but don't make your opinions like the gospel and that anyone who doesn't agree with you, minimize them. If everyone on here knew all of the horrible stuff you pulled on Leafs bloggers comments on this site they would all want you gone. Believe it sens fans this guy was vile on the leafs boards, he is a lifelong leafs fan who put down sens fans a lot over the years.

Sorry if I have offended you in any manner or form.
I sincerely believed that I read a comment on twitter indicating that Murray was open to revisiting his possible movement to Buffalo. If I misread or misinterpreted the comment than I made an error. It was certainly not my intention to mislead anyone.
I am not sure what to say, if you are angry at me for being a very positive Sens fan, especially through the darkness of the last couple of years. |

Report: Maple Leafs, Senators discussing Matt Murray trade
https://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/2383971 - HoweHatrick
Normally when you see that kind of commentary, in this case coming simultaneously from Garrioch and Friedman, it usually means it is getting close to something going down.
I think I would happy seeing Murray going anywhere but to the Leafs. It would be really hard if he refound his game and successfully stonewalled the Sens in games against the Leafs this year. |

id take Mathew over Cat too, but Mathew will ask for 2-3M more per year than cat would but if both offer 9M to Dorion, id take Mathew 10 out of 10 times - Mithos
See I would've tried to sell Matthew on taking the exact same deal as his bro, Sedin style. Maybe a ceremonial boost of 2 extra dollars a year for the age difference. Walks both to FA, they win a couple cups for the Sens and then set sail together for St Louis. I don't think it'd work any other way really, and MT *might* actually bite on that (though his agent wouldn't). But I'm psyched about DeBrincat. He's a good player and it is hard to see a scenario where he'd be bad on this team, even if he has his reservations right now. |

I’m tying it into the fact that the Sens need to focus on other positions before loading up all their cap on a bunch of forwards.
Didn’t say our top guys need to be dealt.
I forget we have children on this board and things need to be broken down in much simpler terms. |

Kuemper sucks.
Just another Grubauer. Sens need to stay far away. - Trilla
He doesn't suck, he can go on vicious tears and his stats show it, but he's not very consistent and that worries me about any such talk. Plus he'll cost what Murray does, and that's worked out great. |

-He posted a .902% in the playoffs. If it wasn’t for his last game, he would’ve had a sv% under .9!! That is not good at all for a starting goalie. Not to mention he’s 32, played on arguably the deepest team and can expect regression playing on a team with a worse roster.

Joe Sakic seems happy to let goaltenders walk and he quickly replaces them with the best cost option that is readily available. There are a few elite goaltenders being paid at the superstar level. But not many goalies are worth $10m. Maybe it makes sense to take the veteran or young guy at $3.5m and avoid all the second tier guys who want $6.0m and more and don't give you much more than the journeyman who works at 1/2 the cost.

Smart management. When you have a defense like his, you don't need a 7M goalie. That is why they let Grubuaer walk. He has great pro scouts. Put money into the right areas and you get results, you don't have these swing and misses like your GM.
