I think the party to have the worst of the trade is Murray. Playing in Toronto, for that fan base, is not going to be an easy ride for him if he falters. |

Until Murray can prove he is healthy and not a head case....their fanbase will go nuts on him! - Kevin Francis
Well I'd say Dorion is doing his job right now! Let's see what the coach makes of this refaced team. |

Ok Sens fans.....Ottawa has proposed to the Yotes to send unprotected 1st round pick in 2023, JBD, Sokolov & Connor Brown to AZ for Jakob Chychrun. As many of you know on here, I'm very tight with those in upper management in the desert.
But PD is trying to unload Zaitsev as part of the deal....AZ wants a 2nd round pick in 2023 if they add Nikita to the deal. More to come....PD wants this done in the next 24 hours or they will focus on Marino or Weegar! - Kevin Francis
if all it costs is a 2nd to get rid of Zeitsev... DO IT!!!! |

This is a win. - SensFan25
Not signing him to that ridiculous contract in the first place is the win. This is a painful save at best. Still...better deal than I thought they'd get. |

I’d be willing to give up all those pieces except the unprotected 1st. This draft class is just too special to risk that. If we were a contender like the lightning I wouldn’t care as much…but we’ve been haunted by the Duchene move. |

Give them the second to take Zaitsev but I really wish they would also take someone like Jarventie instead of Brown but get rid of Zaitsev for sure. |

if OTT lands Chychrun and get Giroux, and makes the playoffs, Dorion 100% gets GM of the year and it wont be close |

Maybe a lotto protected first? But AZ probably wants extra shots at Bédard. If it's unprotected and we lose another top 5 prospect, it's probably Dorion out the door. But the man has shown himself to be a gambler the past few days, I'll give him that. After a tidy UFA signing of Giroux on Wednesday it will be time to negotiate the RFAs. This team could do an about face if the coaching can keep up. |

But think about it....JBD and Sokolov are destined for Belleville all year! Brown is gone in a year....so you really.....you gotta go for it, an established top 4 d at age 23!

He did it with Duchene and he will do it again with the unprotected....remember it was pick a year with the Avs. |

As I said on Twitter.
There will be tweaks to the deal no doubt over the next half day or day....but AZ wants 4 pieces, most of them resembling 1st rounders in some way....by adding Brown and doing the unprotected 1st....AZ feels they move Brown at the deadline for another 1st! That's their thought! |

So, what do you think will happen next. Please tell me that Chychuran is the next piece on the agenda? - spatso
No that’s gone very quiet up to the draft. They are going to try the free agency route for both forward and defence. Previously I mentioned Giroux(duh, like most of everyone else) on a minimum 4 year deal. I expect them to kick the tires hard on Klingberg(mentioned on 32 thoughts today). Most likely a trade , for Marino that includes either Brown or Formentum. Weegar has cooled too, Florida wants to extend him apparently and cap space is tight already. |

Good deal to get Murray out. It didn't work out. Oh well. Will be interesting to see the plan for him with the Leafs. Not a great acquisition by Dorion but he got out of it when many thought he couldn't.
The Yotes deal seems huge. From a Sens perspective, only concerning piece is the unprotected 1st, but highly unlikely to be in the lottery range with some of the rosters in the NHL. JBD would be replaced by an solidified NHL d-man, Brown doesn't have a long term future here and may as well use the trade value while you can, and Sokolov is a prospect every team has in their system. I'd add the 2nd to get Zaitsev and land another fish or two at free agency. It's time to use the assets to make a run. |

That’s why I don’t mind THOSE pieces, it’s the 1st that I’m not willing to move.
Assuming that exact deal happens, how much faith do we have with a tandem of Forsberg and Gus? I’d just be very uncomfortable giving that up. |

Seattle will over pay for Kling. No way the Sens do both positions UFA, they cant overpay for 2 players with many others still unsigned.... |

Exactly, that is what many are saying on Twitter enough of holding on to prospects....who knows how JBD or Sokolov will turn out when you got a bonafide top 4 d at the age of 23 now in Jakob!

Jakob is already a established top 2 Dman at age 23 with 3 years left at a good cap hit, i would not hesitate to trade JBD who is 22 and has yet to get a spot |

I"m sorry but there is only one great play remaining for Dorion.
He signs Campbell for $3.75m. |

Keep forgetting he isn't even on the wrong side of 20 yet. Could be a great long term piece for the team and still signed reasonably for the next 3 years. |
