(from a twitter post i saw on CF)
Dubas: Pierre, you were going to give up the 7th overall pick for the 16th. That’s more than a 3rd and a 7th
Dorion: Go sens go
Dubas: You son of a female dog, I’m in |

Sens have zero interest in trading a first next year. - Cup 06
Too bad you weren't in MTL and with your close friends from the Yotes, listening to many offers....as many know who I was with down there and have known for years! |

Keep forgetting he isn't even on the wrong side of 20 yet. Could be a great long term piece for the team and still signed reasonably for the next 3 years. - Gord_Wilson_2.0

I"m sorry but there is only one great play remaining for Dorion.
He signs Campbell for $3.75m. - spatso
Campbell willing to sign for half of what he will get on the open market....give me more of what you are drinking lol.

Jakob is already a established top 2 Dman at age 23 with 3 years left at a good cap hit, i would not hesitate to trade JBD who is 22 and has yet to get a spot - Mithos

I don’t get why the leafs made this move. Is Murray at 4.5 better than Campbell at 5? Murray has health issues and is a headcase, Toronto will eat him alive. So strange. |

We don't want Campbell. Leaf fans are already howling at the moon over this deal so all we need to do is talk about the possibility of trying Soupy.

leafs fans are in meltdown rofl - Mithos
Dubas was truly desperate in making this move. It’s possible Murray could bounce back if healthy. I’m wondering what the term/money Campbell’s camp was asking for if they’re willing to pay Murray 4.7x2 and risk the next 2 years. |

Seattle will over pay for Kling. No way the Sens do both positions UFA, they cant overpay for 2 players with many others still unsigned.... - Kevin Francis
They are in the game , they may get outbid. We’ll see. |

They offered the 7th pick in this years draft. That time has passed now. Sens scouts did not want to pass up a first(or a second) in next years deep draft. Drafting is the lifeblood of an organization. I would be shocked. |

But, I think he has already burned a year by signing during last season.

I am not sure I have seen 3 so universally agreed "good deals" consecutively by the Sens in my adult life. Buying out White was the right thing to do, acquiring Debrincat without losing a roster player is exceptional, and cutting (most) ties with Murray without giving up a meaningful pick or player is mind boggling.
Always the chance the deals don't turn out, but it's nice to see so much positive reaction to the deals. Amazing what a few extra bucks in Dorion's pocket can do.
Adding a solidified d-man and perhaps another forward would be icing on the cake. We should not forget about a Norris contract as well. Also on the to do list. |

I am not sure I follow. All of the "cap" sites have him under contract for 3 more years.

Trent Mann has talked PD out of many trades....the most resounding one for me was when PD wanted to trade down and not draft Sanderson....Mann went nuts on him....PD gave in! But I have wrote about this a bunch of times before....those that read me all the time. |

As I mentioned in the Leafs thread. Wait! There's future considerations involved. My speculation was Connor Brown heading back to Toronto, salary half retained for Justin Holl. How would that impact the trade after waiting for free agent day, when players are paid signing bonuses and possible no trade deals being lifted? There is still something to happen in this deal. Maybe you'll end up with Justin Holl and his $2 million cap hit. Wait!! |

So PD been making great deals this year it’s so crazy I’m in awe 🫢 just wondering does anyone else think that maybe he is more focus because he doesn’t have Melnyk (bless his soul) breathing down his neck 🤔🤷♂️ |

Holding onto assets when you need to win now....I am telling Chabby....was angry with PD in his exit interview....Brady is getting there! So management needs to figure out if all this rebuilding for 5 years is going to turn into winning or holding onto their draft picks only to just maybe challenge for a playoff spot!

It's a lower end prospect that will be announced during the season but if Murray performs well, that future considerations will become a better prospect! |

you draft your core and fill out the rest with Trades, UFA or draft, you cannot have a 100% drafted team. |

I know his agent....they want 8x8 and they will get it from someone....no way in hell Ottawa pays that...sorry. Dallas offered him 5x8 and they said we will test free agency....that was during the season.

Exaxctly, people wanting PD to hold onto draft picks....they gotta go for it at some point or you will have players asking to leave....I ain't kidding....the leaders are fed up with losing!

Ouch. It sounds like you are having a bad day.
Future considerations is the minimum to satisfy the NHL's trade requirements. It just means they will include a small asset of nominal value such as a conditional draft pick or a minor league player. Many times the conditional pick is simply a condition that will not happen. Sometimes it is a player but in this case, I am not so sure you are going to get much more out of this deal. |
