For the most part I feel like it would be glorious. But there’s a small part of me that thinks there would so much east/west play that there would be a bunch of dizzy opposing defenders but no shots on net

Butchie would not be happy with the lack of chip and chase.

It would be the most entertaining line in hockey whether they scored or not

Kane and Barzal on the same line ❤️

Not gonna happen. Guess we’re out on Tarasenko too. Let’s see what Lou does in free agency. Liked the draft. Got a good #3 defenseman. Now we need a solid sniper. Fingers crossed

You just eliminated two solid snipers from the small list so who do you think is a possibility for us that fits that description?

One of my takeaways from night one of the draft regarding Anthony Beauvillier:

The gesture to bring one of your players to meet draftees as a welcoming committee hardly screams "we're trading this player." I guess we’ll see. #isles

He lives in Montreal, doesn't he? He probably just showed up.

I've watched Romanov since he came into the league. Hard nosed young man who can hit. The only reason he was traded was cap management. Habs are up against it and Romanov is due a nice raise. Montreal turns the pick into 21 year old Kirby Dach. Hopefully a win-win
- Hardbalz

I'm sure you guys will like Romanov ... that kid hits hard, he's solid defensively and has an exemplary work ethics. He seems to be appreciated by his teammates.

He's kinda limited offensively however (stay at home D) but he usually makes a good first pass to get out of the zone. Reliable D man.

Really sucks to see him go but the Habs have a lot of LD coming up in the pipeline and we were not very deep at the center position ... thus the trade for Dach. You gotta give good assets to receive some in return.

You’d have to trade for either of them. Since the hawks going rebuild, I don’t think they would want too much salary going back. Who could we bundle for Tank? Bailey/ Tito? You’d have to send draft picks for either one.

I was thinking we could do a sign and trade with Chara going the other way. All kidding aside it was reported St Louis was interested in Beau being a part of the deal before last season started but with the season he had his worth took a big hit and tarasenko made us wish we traded for him. I guess it depends on how much Lou feels confident in whatever player it is and how impactful they could be. If he thinks it’s a move that could bring us back into contention he could always gamble and throw next years first the other way. That would be quite a statement after what we witnessed last season.

The way I look at it is if you’re going to go for it you do it now. This teams core isn’t getting any younger. If you don’t believe you have a shot at a cup blow it up. Don’t half arse it either way. I think we know where lameriello is on this.

#Isles Lou Lamoriello indicates there is still a strong organizational belief that keeping Semyon Varlamov in a tandem with Ilya Sorokin is best for the team.

Makes sense to me ses. Varly is expensive as a backup but reasonable as a 1B if he gets more games. Can alway trade him at the deadline if need be. I think most on here kind of leaned towards thinking Lou wouldn’t trade him.

Love to keep him but that comes with the caveat as long as we improve the top 6 and more specifically the top line.

I don’t know that Beau and a first get it done though. Might want a sweetener. I’m thinking (hoping) Lou can address it in free agency. We shall see.

I'm disappointed Bailey was not moved at the draft. I think Varly ends up staying and this is his last year with the team.

I think Lou would rather keep Varly. I think Varly or Bailey need to go to have more Cap room to improve the top 6. Hopefully the defense has improved with Romanov. It's all about the offense now.

I believe whatever luster Beau had has worn off most likely but lameriello is going to have to find a way to shed some salary from somewhere. OR we could just do nothing and miss the playoffs again(possible).

Bailey is so great that nobody wants him.
