on the flip side he's won 3 cups, so does he care about winning another or just cashing out the remainder of his career? logic says any professional would want to win, but he did punch a cabbie over money so who knows - Mtlca66
Maybe he wants to get to 6 cups, 3 with each team š¤·š»āāļø |

I think Dylan's points total is inflated by centering Kane ( where have we heard that before? ).
I am REALLY torn over this. Kane is a SUPERSTAR and I think he would be excited to play on Broadway. However, he is 34 and how do we pay him after next year? Plus, he is not a Center, which is what we REALLY need! I have to place faith in Drury on this one. So tempting... - TommyGTrain
The center for Kane and Panarin's line was ... Artem Anisimov. I think Chytil can handle that chore. |

I want no parts of trading Chytil or Kakko for a 34+ year old player. |
|
|
|
The more I read about him the more I really like the Sykora pick. Projected as low as the early 2nd round in a few places, seems like he fell a little bit because of his size but he still has time to grow a bit. If he were 9 days older he wouldnāt even be eligible for this years draft. I could see him being a more skilled/better version of what GG tried to do with Hunt this year and what we did with Fast in years past. |

It may not cost as much as we think. Itās not like it would be a bid war with teams.
And how many times are we seeing that these returns never match what we expect it to be
Debrincat only got one first rounder and one second rder. Maybe itāll just be for picks š¤·š»āāļø
As far as Kaneā¦do you think weād have beaten TB with Kane? I think the chances go up significantly because weād have two powerhouse lines, juggernaut lines even. GAG lines. And the PP? Omg š± it could score at a 33% clip all season. It was 25% last season |

Cytil and Kappo can't be traded for a one year rental. That would be a BIG mistake. I could see both Kane and Miller gotten by a mixture of prospects and picks.

If they could swing Nils and next years first rder, that could do it. Maybe another piece
Itās a trade with a lot of hurdles Iāll give you that. But I think it would be tremendous if we had Patty Kane. We could win the cup with that move. Heād stay for a few years cheaply too imo becuase heās already rich haha
Miller problem is the extension. Itās just gonna be to high, and heāll cost more in assets to get
Kane is the move, or no big fishy yet
Suppose he says I want NYC only..we say ok, you can have one of Nils, Kravtsov or Cuylle and our first rder next year (which is what theyād want over anything else) and a second rder. I know we like these prospects but itās Patrick friggin Kane ffs. We could have the Hawks by the balls |

Kane is another smaller player, bigger players around him have to play their roles for him to be effective.
Rangers just donāt have that environment. |

First off you have no idea if he wants to come to NY, nobody has mention anything, there arent any rumors out there so you cant say we have the Hawks by the balls, second off, you are dead wrong about his extension. He is over a point per game player. He had 4 less points than Panarin and he played on a poop team. He will command 8-9 a year on a 3-5 yr deal. This is his last pay day. He already has the Cups. Third, you think very highly of him, so do the Hawks and they are PAYING him over 5 million NOT to play for them. Thats gonna cost US big time. You had said last night KK and Chytil. That would be 2/3's of our third line. Again, lets not trade our youth for an older Vet. He isnt the piece to the Cup when it could very well costs us our third line. |

Itās a simple question Brukieā¦do you think they would have had a better chance to beat TB with him or without himā¦they were two wins away from the SCF.
You know the answer to that
And Iām pretty sure he would embrace the bright lights of NYC, his nickname is āSHOWTIMEā for crying out loud
Chicago is going to unload everyone and everything. Itās out there. Strome, Kubalik, Toews. Kane, hell even Seth Jones may get moved. Which means theyāll need to retain just to hit the cap floor
And I said one or the other, Kakko or Chytil. And I donāt even think it would cost one of them the more I think of it |

PP would be amazing. But at the same time, Laf has earned that spot on PP1 and I think he needs top 6 minutes and PP1 time this season. Itās time to see what he really is. Maybe Kane comes over at the deadline if the team needs a spark. Also, if Kane wants to become a UFA he has that control. Maybe the move is waiting to sign him without giving up anything next off-season. |

All these things work in unison..trading for him only if heās willing to sign for cheap. If he isnāt then we wonāt do it. He literally is still making 10.5 mill a year, he is not going to get that again or ask for it for that matter
Who else in the league has 3 cups? Not many. Heād have a chance at a 4th or 5th with the Rangers..thatās nothing to take lightly with players. And Iāll tell ya one thing, heād be embraced like Messier was once he came here. NYC is where itās at if you win
I could see it happening at the TDL tho which would kind of suck
Laf gets top line RW duties, PP would have to wait. Again itās Patrick Kane in Stromes spot instead. And we may wanna keep his numbers down anyway one more year if you know what I mean |

You can not think of Kane as anything other than a 1 year rental. If the cost is only Kakko, I would do it too, But to believe that the Blackhawks would trade Kane and pay 5 million of his $10 million salary for Kakko is hilarious. They would get at least anybodyās first round draft choice plus plus. Kakko is no longer the second overall - he is what he is.
I think the cost would be a 2023 first, Kakko and Othman. I would pass on that. |

If you want something of a comparable player, look at what Malkin will sign for. Who do you think is a better player? Injury history? Cup winners. If Malkin signs for 7, Kane will sign for at least 8. |

Kane is better player. Youāre missing the point tho. A guy like Kane has all the money he needs by now..he isnāt gonna play for free obviously, but if he wants to win he isnāt going to put the Rangers in a bad spot doing it. Heāll want them to keep Laf Miller etc because that will help them win.
Letās assume next year heāll get Letang money is that fair? 6.1. Thatās a lot more tolerable then say Dubois would be, or miller. And I think thatās high, 6.1. Guys take less money sometimes, it does actually happen. Iām banking on that Iāll admit, but I think itās pretty likely. He just made 10 million a year. This isnāt Kadri situation where he hasnāt made his big payday yet
And you didnāt answer my question |

Hey tj. I'll interrupt here.
Forsberg was just re-signed by Nashville to an 8 year deal at a $8.75M AAV. The F.A. spenders will be out there spending big time beginning next week on July 13th. How does this Forsberg signing affect a possible new deal that Gaudreau will demand in the end from Calgary to remain there? Then compare the related type F.A. signings afterward to see what Kane may demand on a new deal after his contract expires next Summer.
The F.A. market will have a lot of competition for players of any level at any position this Summer. |

Yes we would have had a better chance of beating TB but if you want to get into hypotheticals, would the Penguins have won if Jarry played?? The answer to that is probably a yes also.
Second dont say, oh he has enough money, cause you dont know what his financial situation is like. Yes 10 million is a lot to you and I but maybe he is a big spender and he is broke. This is his last big payday, but no matter what he isnt taking Latang money. He will get more than Malkin, thats for sure.
Third You dont know what he wants, he has 3 Cups, maybe he wants to go to Buffalo and help make his hometown team a contender.
Yes we are spitballing but we need to address this teams needs, they need a second line Center, for now and in the future. We can not sacrifice young talent as we did in the past for sexy names. It didnt work back then it wont work now. If we dont learn for our past mistakes then we are doomed to having the past repeating. |

Iām with ya if he wants to much we pass. They would get that part out the way quickly. Handshake. Hey listen we need an answer on next season and beyond before we make you a NYR.
Youāre making it complicated there is a lot of factors in the rangers favor with him. One being we have his favorite linemate ever. Thatās a thing |
