Yea that’s a no brainer. Just qualify him. Boom he’s your 2C or 3C. Give him two years. Idk how those contacts work., the qualifying thing lol. I know we’d get him at 3.6 which is perfect for us
And during the conversation after that trade is complete..hey so this Patrick Kane guy.. lol - Slimtj100
Does D Strome, besides being able to be had from Chi, move the NYR needle though? Not really |

Agreed. Strome is a 3c with some 2c upside. Just not there yet. I still think they add a proven 2c and roll with chytl as 3c |

I’m not opposed to D Strome. I think the price would be right in terms of what he would cost and his contract. - nyrangers9479

Here's one to consider:
Toronto gets: Lindgren, Nils, Cuyelle and 2023 1st round pick
Rangers get: William Nylander w/ 50% retained.
Toronto gets a top 4 defensive d-man, prospects and some small cap relief.
Rangers get their 2nd line center for next 2 seasons at a reasonable number and only costs us one current roster player.
You guys doing this??? - TommyGTrain

I think Bennett should be the #1 target. I think the contract/his physical play etc would be a perfect fit. I’m not opposed to some other guys though PLD, D Strome etc but I like Bennett the best. |

Yes, tj.
Trocheck, I believe is coming off an expiring $4.75M cap hit.
Now it's rumored that the Bruins will be heavily interested in signing him if becoming a UFA. I also feel that the Red Wings could be interested, in the event they fear their heavily rumored UFA target named Andrew Copp becomes too pricey for them.
The RFA eligible, Eric Comrie would likely be the best and lowest cost backup to Igor possibly available July 13th.
Greiss I believe is coming off an expiring $3.6M deal.
I want no part of Halak at this point of his career. - RangerSaver
Saver, I for one, appreciate what appears to be an attempt at brevity! Well done, sir. |

The only thing that makes sense if they get a 2C is Chytil is either in the trade and Kakko stays, or Chytil moves to the wing and Kakko goes.
Chytil nor Kakko can be 3rd liners. They need to be top 6. That why I just assume leave Chytil in the two spot. We could regret getting a 2C by the end of the year if Chytil explodes, which is possible. He looked like a new player and man once the playoffs started. And I can’t believe I’m the one the repeats this over and over I couldn’t wait for him to go - Slimtj100
I can. |
