After 25 years of watching this team, the heartbreak, the garbage I’ve sat through, the signing of DeAngelo is the end of the road for me folks.
I watched his first pro season at ice level, here in Tucson while I was doing some score keeping for the Roadrunners in their inaugural season.
His game sucks. Always has. He’s one dimensional, doesn’t defend well at all, and overall lots of flash without much to back it up. There were rumors floating around the arena 6 years ago about his character, and everything that I heard has proved true. 5th franchise in just about the six seasons. He is a bonafide, confirmed racist piece of garbage, and is every boneheaded rich kid from The Area we all grew up with. He sucks as a player and more as a person. An awful signing, addresses very little of their needs, and will backfire. Mark my words. The dude can’t keep his bigoted mouth shut.
Sorry folks, but that’s it for me. They are so far behind it’s not worth my time anymore. It’s simply not. Good luck to you all. Good luck to the flyers, but this is it for me for a while.
Take care! - FloHaake

I have a feeling there’s a few of us not far behind. Comcast needs to go. |

This is really just a circus of a franchise now. It really is.

We’re going to suck for the foreseeable future so that 2nd rounder is like a low first |

Ghost didnt come close to 51 points last few years as a Flyer. |

To those who say the picks traded away are no big deal…the 2nd rounder in ‘24 is the draft that they have an extra 1st from the Giroux trade…
Well, the Flyers also didn’t have a 1st rounder last season, didn’t have a 2nd rounder this year and don’t have a 2nd rounder in ‘23.
They finished 4th from the bottom of the league. This is the cap era. Are you expecting them to climb from this level with half the darts (higher draft picks) that typically obtain top end talent?

Wonder why they didn't do an offer sheet? As wouldn't be cheaper compensation wise?
Oh my bad had no picks... - hello it's me 2050
At a $5M offer sheet, if Carolina hadn't matched, they'd have gotten 1st and 3rd round picks from the Flyers as compensation. Trading a 4th in 2022, 3rd in 2023 and 2nd in 2024 is better for the Flyers compared to that alternative. |

Every team needs multiple top defenseman to play on a top pairing. Nothing to do with needing a shoulder to lean on. That is a ridiculous opinion.
Gostisbehere can play on the PP and move the puck. Should've kept him and the numerous draft picks. - MJL
Correct, we still need two top pairing dmen to play on the top pair. Provy is not one of them. What have you seen the last two years that makes you feel otherwise?
I don’t get why we are now compairing D’Angelo and Provy. Not saying you are doing it, but don’t see why these two are now connected.
Did anyone really think Provy was coming back on the pp and who else were you excited about back there to qb?
As I said earlier, the pp was bad w Jake, G, Ghost and or Provy. It was bad for multiple years. What ghost did last year is irrelevant cause he did not do it here the past couple of years.
However, I agree giving up a 2nd for him to simply leave was bad. It was covering up for a bad contract… although at the time I certainly did not argue w salary and term. It just did not work out.
Let’s call it for what it is. One AVG Gm made mistakes before and now another is struggling to make up for it.
Man you guys luv you some provy.. it’s almost as if you don’t go to the games and watch him. The guy has the yips.

I took my daughter to the skate center today (omg I missed roller blading) so I haven't back read but how many of the folks in here are butthurt that we locked up a top 4 Dman for next to nothing?
Is anybody as happy about this CF move as I am?!
It's becoming clear that Ellis is not coming back so I actually give CF credit for making this solid move |

Someone on Facebook just told me draft picks are a crap shoot when I pointed out how many picks they’ve blown between Risto and DeAngelo
Needless to say I immediately pointed out that Risto is in fact crap. |

You were right on saying he’d go in the 3rd round. Some analysts had him early to mid 2nd.

Top 4 D men usually can play defense, which is kind of our biggest need right now. |

Yeah he has his weaknesses but if matches with a more stay at home type then he has good value |

Frankly, it is madness that this RHD hole has to continually be addressed and no attention is given to the fact that the Flyers have not used ANY of the 33 1st and 2nd round picks over the last 17 years to draft a RHD.
Now they have 1 pick between the 1st and 2nd rounds for 3 straight years.

Provorov is still capable of playing on the top pair in my opinion. Your take that the Flyers acquire Ellis and now DeAngelo due to Provorov needing a "shoulder" is simply false in my opinion.
I've watched Provorov play for 6 NHL seasons. I take it all into consideration and all the factors. Perhaps some of us know what were watching compared to others.
You may consider Fletcher an average GM. I don't.

CF is just leading us into more mediocrity. If they ahvent blown it up yet I don't know 2hat else they need to do. It's going to be a long 7 or 8 years for us after they finally tear this mofo down (and that could be another 2 years) |

He's signed a two year deal. Teams would have to have the tagging space to take on the full 5M cap hit for the 2nd year. Not really a candidate to trade at this upcoming seasons trade deadline.
