I'm just of the opinion that Miller is going to majorly disappoint this year if we keep him. I want him gone by UFA so that he'll be someone else's problem and we can move on without him. He's not a core piece and our D NEEDS improvement or we're treading water at best or dipping downwards next season.

I totally agree. I think Miller is a selfish POS. He’s a talented selfish POS, who makes the team better (for now), but I don’t see him getting any better than he’s shown and I expect he’s going to decline quickly. Maybe not this season, but soon.

No need to ask for me Reuby, I started the cheerleaders when Boudreau took over. You can join my one man squad as the team succeeds, just like everyone finally saw Green for what he wasn't, 3 years after I did.

I will pass on the cheerleaders squad. As you know I am a huge Canucks fan, but i dislike the players/makeup of this team and nothing has changed in that regards.

I agree and stated it multiple times last season, selfish, gives up on plays, doesn't back check, etc. But to insinuate a 50pt season so he doesn't get hurt in his contract year is quite far fetched. Players ramp it up in contract years, he may not repeat 99pts, but dropping 50pts doesn't seem plausible, IMO.

He is a hundred point player and Allvin gets close to his ask or he runs with him next year.

Ok, maybe I was exaggerating just a little, but I think it's perfectly possible and if not probable that he has a down year since last year was such a massive jump for a player who's best season was 72 points and 56 points before this. A ~60 point season isn't out of the question.

Or is it possible Miller and his agent have set a high price in an effort to boss the situation, as has been happening in the NBA and in soccer, where the players have seized a great deal of control away from teams, a situation that the NHL has long been wary of?

1. Asking price/term on new contract is shocking
2. Miller doesnt want to negotiate until season end
3. Wants to go to free agency and have full control
4. Management is worried they don't trade but express interest to Miller as a UFA
