Next year - Buff36
I guess they did have meeting with him
So a decision could of been made
Still think he would chase another cup next year
Unless we trade for him
And trade him at deadline
Then comes back |

Really don't know, I would hope if this was to happen there was a extension in place. - Buff36
I mean Adams has sworn up and down he’s looking to make moves with the future in mind not someone for 1-2 years.
Trading for Kane would be the exact opposite of that.
Let’s say hypothetically they can swing Kane without giving up anything meaningful (Kane’s NTC and his salary gives Chicago no leverage at all) then they better swing for the fences the rest of the offseason |

Fantastic hockey player, but in my eyes if they did trade for him. You are willing to waste assets on a 35yr old, but you wouldn't on players who fit the supposed time line better. |

Great Hockey player, but there were players available that would have fit the timeline better and you weren't willing to use assets on them, but you will a 35yr old |

Do you really sign Bishop + Anderson, make all 11 draft picks, watch 32 trades happen around you, then start swinging for the fences?

If it's real, I don't believe for a second it's a management or analytics dept decision. |

Terry has been trying to get Kane for years depending on who you believe. |

If it's reasonable and he extends, it makes sense. My point was that landing him wouldn't really change my overall plan. Halfway through the off-season, it would be very difficult to change courses. |

I mean I also wouldn’t trade for Kane at this point but if they do, they still have cap space to make a few other significant moves to accompany it |

He's like the anti nichushkin at this point. His point totals are well above what someone with his isolated impact normally produces cause he interpreted defense as optional and left that burden to debrincat and dach, the latter of whom broke and was dealt.
It's gunna cost and arm and leg and you'd be betting everything on him repeating that "success" which I put in air quotes because, when a player scores 92 points but still gets bludgeoned at 5v5 in terms of GF/A, it usually sinks a team into a rebuild. |

One of the worst kept secrets. The problem is, this time Chicago will actually take his call. |

The best opportunities for that have passed....and they certainly don't kick off with Bishop.

Analytic guys also grasp economic impact.

I was told get a goalie and Kane would waive to come here and only here.
Mitts plus Johnson and a 2nd (my guess and the only thing I’d give up)
Gotta get a goalie.
It might not be the smartest of moves, but it would certainly sell some tickets. |

This…
Also maybe you’d be more likely to get a goalie to waive… |

Crippling this teams future to make some guys on Chippewa happy for five minutes isn't exactly economically prudent either.
If his price tag matched his current impact/age I'd be all for it. You start having serious conversations about the 2023 first and or peterka or something like that, you're no better than the Flyers. |

It’s all on Kane. He can say I’m not waiving to go anywhere except Buffalo and Chicago would either let him play out his contract and lose him for nothing or get whatever they can even if it’s low (see Hall, Taylor)
Chicago knows there’s only 2 teams that can take on that full contract, and even if they eat half of his salary they’re still having to take a cap dump back with him.
Chicago isn’t getting anywhere near market value for several reasons: contract, NMC, and teams have leverage over Chicago because of those previous two things. |

His economic impact is far greater than his salary. For a team that can't sell tickets, you know the temptation.
