Because at any one time one or both will be injured. Murray and or Gibson would have been the hands down #1. Which leaves Upl/Anderson splitting the backup roll.

If Murray and Gibson turned us down because they are afraid of playing time behind A 40+ year old Anderson and a kid who can’t stay on the ice. Maybe they did us a favor by saying no.

Wonder what LA will do next. Can Quick be had to give them a little leeway. With the Kempe signing only leaves them about 5m in Cap space

Gibson. Maybe he likes the California life. That is possible. Which is fine

But Matt Murray staying with a team that literally hates him and wants him gone is weird. The sens are pretty terribly run like the Sabres.

Is Ottawa really that much nicer? I doubt it.

I know you aren’t a big fan of the pick, but here’s the two most recent comps for ppg at age 17 for Savoie in the WHL. Seth Jarvis and Dylan Cozens. Pretty solid company seeing what those two are doing. If he was 2 inches taller, everyone in the NHL would have had a huge boner over him. And if that’s not enough, doesn’t Debrincat being like 5’7” on a good day squash the small guys can’t play

Going off his last 3 years certainly. He does, however, have some spectacular years in his career. You overpay for his reputation and hope that at 32 he can find his form again as many goaltenders have in the past.

True. Would also make it hard for him to turn down. Helps get to the floor, and he makes over market value. He plays well, can be shipped to a contender if Buffalo isn’t competing. Would be beneficial for both sides I’d think.

The pick is fine. Did I like Nazar more? Sure but that's splitting hairs. My point is that both Quinn and Peterka had spectacular years in a professional league.

I'm much higher on both of them than Savoie right now. Sure, one year from today that might be changed 180ﾟ.
