How could Savoie be rated ahead of Quinn and Peterka right now? - lacaprup
I think Savoie has the highest upside of the three |

The pick is fine. Did I like Nazar more? Sure but that's splitting hairs. My point is that both Quinn and Peterka had spectacular years in a professional league.
I'm much higher on both of them than Savoie right now. Sure, one year from today that might be changed 180゚. - lacaprup
Yeah I get that, just that their older. People (not saying me, although I do like Savoie) might see Savoie as better long term. Honestly, if we’re still considering Power a prospect, my rankings:
1) Power
2A) Quinn
2B) Savoie
2C) JJP
5) Levi
6A) Ostland
6B) Johnson
6C) Rosen
6D) Kulich
Then like everyone else |

At this rate I'm going to expect him to be our best drafted forward since Thomas Vanek. And, yes, I am implying neither Sam nor Jack can sniff Thomas Vanek so far in their careers. |

If Murray would have waived his NMC we’d probably have Savoie and Nazar today |

Frank Seravalli reported on the DFO Podcast that Braden Holtby likely won’t play next season. His career may be over. So we can cross another name off of the list for potential targets for the Sabres

I tell you my goalie rotation post from last blog odds have really risen, maybe 65% now. |

So Campbell stays in Toronto
Kumper to either Washington or Edmonton
What does that leave us with? |

Could of had Murray for nothing last year
On waivers - Anderdog
Ottawa was paying a jump from 16th overall to 7th overall to get rid of Murray. We know we could have had him for free. Teams need to pay you to take their bad contracts. |

If the sens put Matt Murray on waivers for a conditional buyout
Can we be Richards and claim him? - Sabretooth9
Sure, but why would you want to take on his full contract for nothing in return?

Let the people in charge worry about money |

It's not that the Sabres wanted Murray, it was more along the lines of he fills a need AND they were going to be able to move up in the draft

Based on talent ……. I would say Savoie is by far and away the most talented prospect we have. (That doesn’t mean the best prospect)
Just purely talent level. He ooses offensive skill.
And that is not pooping on power Quinn or JJ. I’m just going off of talent and skill.

Wish the Sabres had their 3rd round pick next year, I would offersheet Oettinger for the hell of it |

Exactly. Claim him and force him to come. If he doesn’t want to be here. Tough luck dude.
Sabres can handle a goalie with 2 years left no problem contract as is. |

Spot on. Sabres needs to force there way to a goalie if they won’t waive
That is why I mentioned claiming Murray if he’s on unconditional waivers |

Didn't even notice.
I doubt anyone would anyway...we see an offer sheet like what once or twice a decade?

I get that
Looks like 2 years in a row
He left holding his Richard
With no goalie
So they only wanted him for the pick
Not him |
