Didn't even notice.

I doubt anyone would anyway...we see an offer sheet like what once or twice a decade?

I get that
Looks like 2 years in a row
He left holding his Richard
With no goalie

So they only wanted him for the pick
Not him

- Anderdog

That's the price you pay for not making the playoffs in 11 years and the perception of "running off" your franchise center

Feels like there's too much smoke behind Subban for that not to happen.
- kingcong39

I think a lot of that smoke is just because Malcolm sang the anthem. Also standing by the idea that KA offered a two-way deal that causes him to hit the UFA market. Likely the same with Tokarski.

'Want to be here' has some one-sided implications.

FIFY, should we start a list?

Murray. No
Gibson. No
Holtby. Yearly IR, retired
Georgiov. Traded
Kemphur. Too expensive.
Campbell. Too expensive.

To be determined:
Quick ?
Varlomov ?
Hill?
Subban
Tokarski
Houser

Rumor was that Ottawa was also retaining salary. No one wants him at full cost.

Wish the Sabres had their 3rd round pick next year, I would offersheet Oettinger for the hell of it
- Stripes77

If we traded to get it back, can we then offer sheet oettinger? Lol

As long as it's the Sabres 3rd then they could, but they wouldn't

Based on talent ……. I would say Savoie is by far and away the most talented prospect we have. (That doesn’t mean the best prospect)

Just purely talent level. He ooses offensive skill.

And that is not pooping on power Quinn or JJ. I’m just going off of talent and skill.

- Sabretooth9

My personal rankings are importance to the team. Power will have such an impact if puts it all together. Having a one two of him and Dahlin playing 25 a night is going to be huge. The next 3 are all there for different reasons. Quinn can score with the best of them. JJP is an insane glue guy with skill (think a younger Tuch already and the impact there) and Savoie like you said just oozes offensive skill. All 3 will be equally important to the Sabres success I believe.

Top 10 prospects rankings post draft with stylistic player comparable:

1) Power (Aaron Ekblad)
2) Savoie (Daniel Briere)
3) Quinn (David Perron)
4) Peterka (Ondrej Palat)
5) Johnson (TJ Brodie)
6) Levi (Jusse Saros)
7) Ostlund (Yanni Gourde)
8) Rosen (Victor Olofsson)
9) Kulich (Alex Killorn)
10) Poltapov (Sam Bennett)

So a few of these guys will miss, or won’t hit their ceilings but you have to look at this list and smile.

Add in a great cap situation (only one bad contract long term in skinner). And with extra 2nd rd picks next year and I’m extremely happy.

* let’s do what we can to get Johnson signed. We need him *

I just want to disclaim that these were stylistic comparisons.

Similar style, I am not saying these players will have the careers they are compared to as these are more best case scenarios if everything goes right.

Hutton was a good locker room guy, right? He’s gotta be available. And he wouldn’t “block” any youngsters.Economic, too.

Comparisons like that are always very tricky. Overall, a good breakdown of a pretty strong group of draftees.

Pretty solid, a few things I would have liked differently with Warren and Luneau still on the board.
