Vinnie's signing is a little bit surprising. I listened to KA's interview yesterday and I thought - reading between the lines - that if we did bring back anyone it would be after free agency started. I assumed his return might be tied to how well we did signing other people.

The timing makes me think they made some cursory calls and found out that basically the image of the team isn't totally rehabbed yet and NTC's are just Buffalo copy and pasted on the central registry.

Alternatively, it might make some sense if contract negotiations with Olofsson have stalled. You could make the argument that Hinostroza's on ice impact will hold given that he did it with a usage much greater than he was used to.
