Bad day tomorrow and UPL is in Buffalo. - Lunaion
It's such a slap in the face to make the whole year about vibes and finding meaning in games post elimination, and then run it back with the exact same lineup. At that point you may as well trim the fat off the fringes for draft picks and say "look I tried but I'd like another high pick" |

I think UPL starts the year in Rochester, but ends up playing here a bunch which isn’t a bad thing unless they’re legit winning games and in a playoff race. |

So there were great vibes and the team looked really good at the end of last year but if the team is largely the same.... that's bad?
And again, opening night is 3 months away.....

Seems clear that they want to do that, but the options are drying up fast. When you're getting to Martin Jones and David Rittch as options, maybe you give up and go with UPL. |

If they run it back from last year (plus Quinn/JJ) I’m fine with it minus the goalie situation.
I do think it would be a disservice to the team and the fans if it’s Anderson and UPL all year. You can sell me on Hill or Samsonov. But there’s no way UPL and Anderson can handle 82 games. |

Yes because the goaltending didn't. If you're going for the vibes, you gotta reward your skaters for their work. |

I agree with all of that. These goalies are a dime a dozen and we'll get another warm body to add to the mix. I don't doubt that at all.

It'll get done. It is clearly at the top of Adams agenda given the smoke.

Few off-ice warning signs on him, doesn't sound like a KA signing.
It's dangerously thin. - Lunaion
What off ice issues? I didn’t hear about that.
And I agree sub .900 save % won’t get 3-4 mill but I’m thinking about trying to lure a goalie here. You will have to overpay.
Think about this. Bryson and hinostoza did nothing and got almost 2 mill |

I believe that, but they're in a bind. the UFA market for goaltenders with upside is way thin.
We're reaching with any samsonov talk. They'd be betting on a goalie with a much larger sample of bad goaltending than good at the NHL level.
This may drag into training camp because of the limited quantity in FA + the high-ish price in the trade market. |

Up front and in net, I agree w you.
I'd still like to see a vet D brought in. |

The bryson deal looks high but other d-men who have his amount of even strength ice time usually get something close to that.
Hinostroza had 25 pts in 62 with above average possession metrics. That usually goes for around 1.5-2 in FA too. |

If we're really getting down to the bottom of the barrel, I'd much rather them just go with UPL/Andy. |

There is upside and warts to all of the goalies that are available. Other than maybe Georgiev I don't feel like we've missed out on anyone (and similarly I won't be shot in the rear with whoever we do get). I still think that the goalie won't come via UFA and there is a good chance it is a name we haven't been talking about.

I think ultimately UPL will get his shot and the warm body we bring in will be the backup. Anderson is a "in case of emergency, break glass" option. |

I'd rather start UPL than sign Samsonov to a multi year contract. Maybe the Sabres luck out and the Isles have to move Valarmov to make a run at signing Gaudreau.

Work ethic kind of stuff. Some stuff in here that doesn't sound great.

Right, but they all have more warts than upside. Even short term that's not who you want to pair up with Craig Anderson.
I don't think they want to go the UFA route either, its just a matter of the cost through trade.
I think they really like Jake Allen (my number 1 choice if anyone cares) but with so much uncertainty surrounding Price they'll likely hold onto him. |

I think there might be more goalies out there today than there was a couple of days ago. More names will continue to be revealed.
I'd make that Samsanov move as well. He is linked to Toronto? Hard to believe they could take him on after the stupid Murray trade. - Slump Buster
Samsonov.and Anderson we're teammates in Washington he said Craig helped him as much as he could and was a great teammate. |

This is a terrible game to play with Quinn. First they don't want to burn a year on him, then they prefer him in Roch for their playoff run, now hold that against him?
He earned the opportunity half a season ago. - Lunaion
👏👏👏
Seems right to me- we’ll see what Adams thinks |
