On a side note, I like the pick... in fact, I think thye did a fairly solid job at the draft, with picks and trades.
By this time next week, I think we can better view to judge all the major changes going into next year.
Should be a fun week.
(And if they manage to trade Drouin, gonna be drunk til opening night). - Mashadar
You and me both.
I also like the Slaf pick ... I was kinda shocked at first but when they got Dach as well then it all made sense. I hope Dach can find his game with the Habs.
We should finally have a potent 1st line for the first time in years. |
|
|
|
lol, that would be impressive, but I'm guessing there are more chances of him being traded during the season, if he starts putting a few points on the board (in both columns, preferably...) - Pat1993
Drouin is a trade deadline case…
Depending on how he performs by the deadline, we could get a decent return…

Totally…. If Dach gets his game back, I think Drorak would be gone…. I think they will play the kid on the 3rd and move him slowly to the 2nd…

I don’t want to disappoint you but apart Petry, I am not expecting many significant changes…
If Petry leaves, we can expect a cheaper experienced D coming… Maybe Chiarot… - TheInformer697041
Too many wingers, perhaps a center has to be moved as well.
Hoffman, Drouin, and Dvorak (though, they may want to hold on to him to max out return at TDL) will all have reduced roles or places that do not really fit their skillset.
I expect at least 1 of those to be gone before the season starts.
Petry might go as well.
Will be interesting to see what happens.

No one wants Drouin.
Why do you think he has to troll customers at McDonalds with free tickets just to sit with him....

his contract ends next season, if he does get it going a bit it wouldn't be a huge risk for a playoff team with cap space wanting to add offensive production. not saying it'll happen but it's a possibility. |

As sad as it is, you're probably right ... I see Drouin in Europe after this year. |

I'm starting to think the only way they'll be able to trade some players is to retain 50%

Just move on from the baggage questions. Playing time, trade deadline, injuries, contract talks. |

Not worth it, he's in his last contract year and we're not making the playoffs this year.
For all I care, they could sit him in the press gallery all year ... I'd rather see a kid getting some ice time (and experience). |

This is Bergevin legacy!!!
Other topic, if Anderson is traded, what do you think they would ask for?
Now that the draft is behind, I don’t see 2023 picks…
I think this has to be for a good D man… Especially if Petry is going…

I think a 2023 pick would be awsome. deep deep draft. if Petry gets traded, I can see them going with Guhle, Barron, Harris, Savard, Edmondson, Wideman, and sign a cheap UFA dman. plenty of them on the market.
that being said, they will lose Dadonov, Byron and Drouin. so unless a real good offer they'll keep Anderson imo. |

Dadonov ... $5,000,000
Byron ... $3,400,000
Drouin ... $5,500,000
That's a lot of money coming off the books for those 3 after this year.
Also, last chance this year for Poehling to earn a roster spot, he's a RFA at the end of the season.
PS: didn't realise we were still paying Alzner (2 more years @ $833,333).
Bergy sure left us with a mess. |

Here's hoping.... but let's remain practical to. I think they'll be capable of being a fantastic line... in a few years. They'll have there ups and downs and alternate line mates this year for sure. There will be mistakes made. But you can't help but like the potential!😃 |

For sure, I don't expect it will be all rainbows and unicorns.
We're still in the bottom of the league and have a lot of work to do to get better. |

I maybe of the few, but I'd have no interest in trading Dvorak at this point. You've got Evans who is one head injury away from an early retirement, Phoeling who remains a question mark, and Dach who still has to find his game. We've all said it, on a real good team Dvorak is a 3c. Let him play 2c until we know what we have in Dach, and if they flip spots through the year, you've got a great 3c. I thought he looked on point by end of last season.
I suspect Petry could easily be gone by now. The problem being it's likely with a similar return as McDonagh got. Management will likely just keep him if there's no return. |
