Strome was informed of Chicago’s decision on Thursday, I believe prior to the DeBrincat trade. Kubalik was told today he wasn’t being QO’d.
They are going all out tank for Bedard. Best forward next season if they get rid of Kane and Toews will be Philip Kurashev. Had 21 points in 67 games.
That's one way to tank (field an AHL roster) a year after you traded a ton for Seth Jones. |

I don't think this is likely at all. The cap hit and calibre of player is too good for the market to dry up so quickly. - Load Management

I don't participate in the comment section on sites like that. I post on a few forums but the comment section isn't my thing. This is as close at it gets but it's still different. I'm familiar with everyone here... |

Seriously? I can give you several reasons off of the top of my head why it could easily dry up and that's not even speculating about what happened on Friday.
1) The Canucks set a high price for Miller that teams either don't have the assets to meet or else do not want to give up said assets to get him.
2) Addendum to 1) In which case, the Canucks refuse to lower their asking price in order to deal him and price themselves out of the market.
3) Upon working out a trade that's amenable to both parties, Miller and the acquiring team are unable to come to terms on an extension, thereby voiding the deal in place.
4) Miller gets injured, and with his age and likely decline after he turns 30 next year, teams lose interest in acquiring him.
5) Miller has a down year (which is quite possible considering his high watermark was last season and his previous best season was a 70 point season and 56 point one) and that hurts his value considerably.
6) Miller refuses to negotiate a contract, whether with the Canucks, or anyone else and wants to go to UFA to pick where he wants to play and for the most money/term.
That's all off the top of my head why offers for him could dry up quickly the closer to the regular season it gets. Free Agency period is going to be the last point of time the Canucks can maybe get maximum (or close to it) value for him or else they'll likely be looking at a depreciating asset at TDL that they can't sign and everyone else knows it and will have all the leverage. |

Faber/1st for Fiala most recently.
Patience. Playing high stakes poker takes guts & not blinking. There is a deal out there. Panic then it’s nothing more than an elite piece being handed away. |

With the goalie market as is, Van will hold onto him for a bit longer.

The Buffalo Sabres have signed defenseman Jacob Bryson to a two-year contract with an AAV of $1.85 million.
That's a pretty bad looking contract. |

An RFA without Arb rights. No issues with # of contracts. Seems like a QO is a no brainer, even if you ask him to play in the ECHL. |

Yup. Put together back to back to back good seasons, instead of a good 49 game stretch, or a wild “playoff” run and then lay back to back 💩. - 1970vintage
I'll be happy when they have a good team and make the playoffs consistently. |

More on Miller...
Elliotte on Miller: At that point (Friday) of time I don't think Van had given anybody permission to speak to Miller.
I got a call today and someone said it was true at the time but there are some indications that may change. |

5 goalies seems like the number now a days.
I'm not pro getting a vet for goalie for Abby. Get another project for ECHL. |

Still think management wants to see what this team can do this year.

Yeah, I agree. Silovs numbers in the AHL weren’t exactly stellar last year. Let them compete for games. Maybe sign a college (unsigned) guy for your 5th guy. |

Thanks Jim. That definitely meant we need to trade everyone. Hamonic out. Dermott in. Tons of unravelling done. 😆 |

Funny. The fans need to be patient while the owner and (previous) general manager have constantly tried to shortcut the process. We’ll see what the next group can accomplish. |
