One blog I would have to agree. Kap sucks out loud. I think Nylander could/would be as effective as Kap for 750k

I agree, but Kaps QO is only at like $850k. I'm ok is Pens sign him for that. He has a lot of work to do to be a consistent roster player, but does have some upside.

Face it, Trocheck will be better for the Pens.

QO is irrelevant. He won’t sign that.

Great, we can get the 1/2 the goal production for a little cheaper contract.

Hextall really f-ed this up. If Malkin signs elsewhere, that will be the #1 thing people remember Hextall for. Simple as that.

I dont think Malkin is gone yet, I have no problem with a guy who's never in free agency wanting to see what he's worth. I dont think his market will be as high as his camp thinks, but all it takes is one team to offer a plain stupid contract that the Penguins wont touch.

But on the flip side, more money now to sign Matthews or MacKinnon when they hit FA.

At least he will play MOST of the games and not be a defensive liability.

I couldnt careless about regular season games. I'd take Evgeni Malkin in the playoffs 100/100 times over Vince Trocheck.

My friend with the Pens was absolutely adamant that this wasnt coming from FSG and FSG saw Malkin as an important piece moving forward.

Cant imagine they're thrilled with a lot of their fans being p!ssed off that their GM just let a franchise player potentially walk over 1 year on his contract.

What will Malkin going do to the PP. They were 6th worst in the league without him last season. Something like 16%.

Maybe I'm being overdramatic, but I'm going to have a hard time watching this team without Malkin.

My man, I've been a diehard Pens fans for thirty years and won't stop. I'm saying it will be hard to watch without him because watching him in another jersey when they could have kept him will be tough to watch. Whatever little bit of window was left is now done and could have been avoided.

Completely agree…I don’t see how FSG doesn’t get rid of RH unless they go on a miracle cup run without him.

Could also see this messing with negotiations with Sid 3 years from now. I think the odds of him finishing his career in Colorado just went way up

It was never about term, only about the money. Let's see who has offered Malkin more money.
