Nah....the east was pretty wide open...there weren't any teams in east on Colorado's level and no one including me thinks Pens could of beat Colorado, so no, but nice try to twist things there hahaha not to mention the use of "perhaps" - MattStrat
The East was wide open besides Tampa and Toronto. Had Pittsburgh come up against either of them, they'd have been shredded.
Edit: Yes, they may have been able to hang 3-4 on Toronto every game, but they'd be giving up 5-6 every night. |

The Pens are IMO officially a bubble team now. There's nothing that keeps them as playoff lock. - Rinosaur
In a perfect world, we miss the playoffs next season, get the #1 pick and draft Bedard. 2nd line center problem figured out in the short term, new franchise player for the long term. |

Just go big after JT Miller. He can be the 2C, he's more productive at Malkin at this point. When Zuckers deal is done you can extend him. |

Maybe, maybe not. That's your opinion, not factual. Bolts play strengthened as the playoffs went on to my eyes. I think there was a few teams that could of bounced them in 1st round, compared to how they were playing in the 3rd round.

And what exactly are they giving up to get JT Miller in a deal that other teams can't beat? |

Idk maybe it’s because they’ve disrespected him because they’re fine giving everyone else 6 years. - Feds91Stammer
36 year old 2C's with injury history would usually get offered 1 year deals. Offering 3 so he can either "end" his career with Sid or potentially resign at that point for a new deal is the "respect"

Yes, you're right. Penguins were a shoo-in for the Finals had it not been for injuries despite the fact that their core is aging and they haven't won a playoff series since 2018. You win. |

Marino, Kapanen, Zucker and a 1st. JR loves those guys. That's why he overpaid for all of them when he traded for them |

I just don't get it dude. It's one thing to be a fan, it's another to have delusional blind faith. They were not beating any team that played with asound defensive structure, i.e. Carolina or Tampa Bay. |

If Malkin is allowed to walk it sort of feels like another Kessel situation
In hindsight, we definitely got out of the Kessel deal at the right time. It got us POJ and we didn't have to retain any money. Would have been an albatross had we waited one more year. We probably would have got a better return had we done it a year before
I'd give Kadri 6 years @ 8 per before I'd give Malkin 4 years at 6 per
I think you'd get 4 good years out of Kadri and 2 okay years, Malkin 1 good year and a steep decline and a ton of missed games |

Seth R. Did an interview with Burke and 4th year was offered. With his family in Florida, it’s likely that he wanted to just be closer with them. |

I said perhaps, man....perhaps...not to mention my responses to Feds saying that its not far fetched to me at all that they are battling for a wild card spot at end of season hahah....no delusional blind faith at play here at all. |

But how is his plan Florida? I dont think Tampa or Florida has the cap room to bring in a guy like that.
And if he truly wanted to be with his family, why did we go through this dog and pony show for weeks?

"JR is not the GM" is something that gets said around here often, I've even said it in response to others, that's why I'm laughing at it. |

(frank) if I know. TOR got picks with Murray.
Id say start with Petterson, KAP, 1st, + prospect. Miller only has 1 year left on his deal. |

He’s not not involved but GMs are ultimately in charge of player personnel |
