“Weegar trade is imminent according to sources.”

Anyone see anything out there on Weegar besides the OTT stuff from a few days back?

I thought Bill Zito would be a great GM, boy was I wrong. Not only has he stripped the club of getting first-round picks, but he into old players that are hood ornaments. Plus he thinks he will get former first draft picks to become superstars. Did Alex Wennberg get anywhere, how about Olli Juolevi? Now he thinks Colin White will turn the corner. He's grasping at straws.

ZOMG! The sky is falling!

Zito is still dealing with a lot of dead cap money, due to both Tallon and Rowe making stupid deals. Once some of that comes off the books (no, it's not this year, unfortunately), then some room will be freed up.. and then, specific issues can be addressed.

I've been watching this team since 1993, seen the ups and downs, and (as long and Viola and Co. don't panic), finally see something positive coming..

I'm not writing off this upcoming season, but don't dust off the Cup either.. The Cats need to be in the habit of making the playoffs REGULARLY, first.. THEN worry about a deep run..

On the other hand, they're not going to be playing for the draft lottery pick this upcoming season... So relax, grab an adult beverage or two, and don't worry about things... there's ZERO you can do about it anyway.

It's a damn good thing that fans DON'T run the front office, emotions get in the way..

Yea it better that Tallon, Rowe and Zito run the front office, they're doing a banged up job.

Dude we won 1 round of the playoff in the last 25 years. Give me a break. 25 years of poor management from top to bottom is the reason it’s been all those years. Here’s one for you. We give Bobvrosky a 10mil/10 year contract and then go draft Knight 13th overall. Makes no sense. If Connie Viola didn’t have his head out of his racehorses ass he wouldn’t allow that poop

I don't think the Panthers would trade Weeger for another defenseman. They seem to like finnish players. In that regard, it could be to the Rangers for Kakko or the Oilers for Pulijujarvi. Especially Kakko since he has ties with Ruutu.

The guy that couldn’t beat Hagg for playing time? I would’ve liked to see him play more, he didn’t get many games at all.

Maybe we could resign Jagr. Along with Thorton, the Staal brother we could have The Over the Hill Gang. At least it would be entertaining.

They lost the two trade deadline pickups and Acciari, who was out most of last season injured. They were very good w/out all three of them. Marchment is the biggest piece leaving via FA. Duclair’s injury opens up another spot for one of the kids (Denisenko?) to step into.
Edit: also losing Mamin to KHL. I would’ve liked to see him stick around, but he was used sparingly last season.

They should of signed Evan Rodrigues. The guy was a great playmaker, made the players around him better, and scored 19 goals. You could have had him for probably 1.2 million. Better than Colin White with his three goals.

Wanted to get your guys's thoughts / opinion on Chiarot. Wondering what to expect at this point in his career and what he has to offer now that he got signed by the Red Wings. I haven't seen him play much. Is he still effective ? Is he still a top 4 defenseman ?
