I liked the signing at first. But yeah, that didn't work. He's just too slow now. - Isleshockeyman
Same i was singing his praises until about 30-40 games in and it just never got better. Save for his ability to stick up for teammates he has zero value, and truth be told the isles traded zone entry Leddy for a flat footed Chara. Bad swap. |

No but they would have to do quite a bit of cap gymnastics to make his salary work. - Isleshockeyman
They most certainly would. They have to bury at least three contracts, which is a huge hurdle and what makes us a dark horse as opposed to a non factor. I would worry about the tax situation playing in but his other apparent choice is NJ so

Nope it’s definitely not happening haven’t you been reading the posts on here - nyisles7
If you want to put all your faith and hope into him signing here, God bless you. I'm just too beat up from past experiences to think it'll happen. I really hope he does sign here. That would be awesome and it would give us the scoring I think we need. |

What, if any, is the tax difference between NY & NJ? I have no idea. I've heard from some of you guys that NY taxes are high. |

There are about 6 coaches I would have hired before Torts. 2022. I played for him and a former player on his Stanley Cup winning team texted me amd said"How many (frank)ing players called their agents and are asking for a trade" #Flyers #Torts
Thats just one player.....there are many more. Torts has a bad rep, and I just dont see a finesse player wanting to play for a guy who players hate. Come to think about it, without googling it, has any player sung his praises? |

Not much difference between NY, NJ or Philly. Its Canada thats the problem. $1.00 to 1.30 is the dollar differential, and add to that 50% you pay in taxes. You'd be a fool to sign that big conny in canada vs anywhere in the US. Vegas, Nashville, Dallas, and Tampa (Miami) are the most tax friendly cities. |

Flyers are trying to trade JVR. Some teams are interested but are asking Philly to give a high pick with JVR. I don’t believe it makes sense for the Flyers.
And are going to have to pay a fortune to make enough to sign Gaudreau |

Couldnt have been more dissapointed with Chara's performance last season. Awful, and I attribute some of the isles woes to his flat feet and inability to play at this level - kindlyrick
Chara was 100% part of the reason the isles missed the playoffs last season. Couple that with Trotz playing him as a top 4 most nights. Guy was absolutely terrible for 3/4’s of the season. |

Outside of maybe Atkinson, there's nobody on that team that I'd really want. |

They're both awful.
NJ has an 8.97% income tax rate while Newark adds 1%. New York equals the NJ state rate |

Yep, but it won't stop them from trying. It's been known that they've been shopping multiple players to try and make this happen |

Talk about trading from a position of weakness. If true, they're gonna get fleeced to move JVR

Yeah, and like I said yesterday, short of Gaudreau or Kadri...it'd probably be better if they just stay put or find a decent veteran defenseman |
