My gut says... Johnny G goes to Devils, Kadri ends up on Rags... and Lou announces contracts for Romanov & Dobson at 3 pm to show everyone he is actually working.
then in a few days we sign someone still out there or trade for someone that no one loves but we all somehow say it's a good sign and makes us better... blah blah blah. - niteislander
Lol...let's face it. We all have high hopes and higher expectations with Lou at the helm, but most know damn well this is the most likely scenario. Still hoping thw Taresenko situation plays out. |

Most people have Trocheck almost certainly signing with the Rangers, which would take them out of the race for Kadri - eichiefs9
gotcha.. would rather them have Trochek than Kadri.. but both are better than Strome.

It could be but to me it doesn’t make us a MUCH better team as you described. - Cptmjl
It's at least a move for now and for the future. I'm all about acquiring young, talented players. I'm not so much about acquiring 30+ year old middle-six guys and extending them for 4-5 years. |

Both are certainly upgrades from Strome. I'd like to see what both players sign for before I say who'd I'd rather have, because in a vacuum I think Kadri is a much better player. But Trocheck on a good deal vs. Kadri on a full UFA market value deal would be very different |

Of course but if we don’t land anyone today you can bet your arse that’s exactly what we’re going to do |

If they lose JG which by all accounts they are they should. Calgary isn’t a bad team. |

I think thw subtraction of Z and addition of Romanov is a significant upgrade for sure. Dobson being another year older helps too. Then if Salo can find his feet, we should be really strong on defense. The question still remains, can we score enough and will our power play finally improve? |

Truth be told, the backend is a bit soft. Always need a guy who makes the other team nervous entering the zone. Last year, guys were entering the zone untouched. |

That was me.. I just think we are "Much better" by not having a 50 year old traffic cone on the ice playing top 4 minutes. Romanov can Skate, hit, makes good outlet passes..etc. He was playing top pairing minutes with St. Louis at the helm and was playing really well at age 22... I think he will be a fan favorite immediately.

I always liked Kadri, and coming off a cup win he's gonna get paid. Is he worth what he's gonna get at 8 milly? |

No. I mean how much proof do we all need that it won’t? Different assistants and head coaches haven’t been able to accomplish that with this group. Banking on these guys doing that to me is dumb. |

I’m not saying he won’t be. I’m just not sure how much better we are with him in our lineup with zero changes besides him? I certainly don’t think it means we’re a much better team with him. That’s all. |

I want to see "Bailey and a 3rd round pick in the 2023 draft for Tarasenko is a done deal". I know, I know, that's not nearly enough to get that deal done. I can dream though. |
