Unless the isles have some success this coming season, I can see Barzal walking. They have done zero these past few years to improve that #1 line when a TON of players got moved. - Mancalledsting
I just tried googling "dracula staple hockeybuzz" and "count staple hockeybuzz" and found a bunch of old references to it but unfortunately no pic - eichiefs9
I know he's a UFA next summer. The Blues are going to want a return. What are you giving for him right now then? The Blues aren't just going to give him away like Vegas did Patches. - Isleshockeyman
They don’t have to. Vegas was in Cap hell the blues aren’t.

If Barzal doesn’t sign an extension he won’t be walking his ass will be traded imho.
Lou’s not letting his franchise player walk for nothing. The Garth Snow type decisions have come to an end here.

Yes, I know that. Not the point. My point was that the Blues will want a nice return for Tank. I never said the Blues were in cap trouble. If someone wants to trade for Tank, my guess is they'll want at least a roster player, prospect and a pick. Maybe more.

Exactly, I was agreeing with you stating there’s no urgency Cap wise to move him as with Vegas and Patches.
Tank may want a trade, (Which we have heard for a couple years now) however he has another year on his contract. Tell him to suck it up, honor his commitment and he can move from St Louis then.
Vegas didn’t have this option.
Even without Girard I could see that happening. I don't think they're going to saddle a still-developing Dobson with a pretty green Romanov. - eichiefs9
Fair. And I rather like those combos better as well.
I’d be all for it. Send the Av’s a couple picks, and pretty much swap Toews for Girard.

I agree. Going to be interesting to see how this plays out. They may give Dobson and Romanov a look in pre season and the early stages of the season but on a short leash.
Although the Twitter GM’s may lose a nut if they are separated.
