These young College and Junior players get invited to fill cap rosters every summer and what a F’n shame the Islanders didn’t invite the kid.
John & Jorden Tonelli for HOF

There's still time. He is unsigned at this point.
" Though his dad’s former teammate Henning still works for the Kraken and assistant general manager Ricky Olczyk was once a Brown team captain, Tonelli isn’t the property of any NHL or pro club yet. Invited players come to these camps hoping to get noticed and that it eventually leads to something.
For now, Tonelli plans another season at Brown and to further his Ivy League education. He’s studying Applied Math Economics and said: “My parents have invested too much in me not to get my degree.”
But if the right pro offer comes along, he isn’t above continuing to forge his own hockey path a little beyond." |

Glad you’re coming around. I said it last month, don’t be shocked when it’s the same group coming back with a couple minor tweaks. |

Isles were 37-45 last season if you move the 10 OTL’s to losses, which they were. The loser points. Missed the playoffs by 16 points. Very rarely does a guy like Johnny Gaudreau hit the open market, and somehow we were unprepared to sign him. Guy had 115 points last season, 3 less than Nelson and Barzal combined. He’s a point per game player with a plus over his career. It’s a shame they weren’t prepared to fully participate in what should have been a layup signing by Lou. We offered JT $12M. Couldn’t find a way to get to $10M for LG? To say I’m disappointed is an understatement. |

I have great respect for LOU but he has not done much at all since he has been here beside Trotz which was reason we made the deep playoff runs with a roster that was mostly built by Snow.
He did not give Trotz much last year while other teams were getting better and he did nothing same this year. That is problem with Islander ownership they wait to long to make a change. Lou might have built cup winning teams in past but his time has pasted.,

Spot on. 95% of our success has been Trotz winning with Garth Snow’s players. Lou is useless at this point. |

I’m not calling for Lou’s head I just think they should have been prepared to make a strong run at JG and they obviously weren’t. |

This season needs to be his last here. Unless he pulls a rabbit out his ass and signs an elite winger by somehow giving up nothing but late round picks, he needs to go. We’re Pat LaFontaine-inch Barzal and Sorokin just like Snow did to Tavares |

If the islanders miss the playoffs this season he’ll either be fired or he’ll retire HOF GM or notwithstanding. There’s a zero % chance Ledecky and malkin are going to take a chance on enduring three straight seasons without playoff revenue. I’m not saying they’ll make a great change but they will make one. That you can take to the bank. |

He put up a few points with Anaheim last season and he has rob schremp like talent, which doesn’t always translate well to the nhl. Maybe he’ll put it together one of these days but we should be targeting more known commodities not rolling the dice on maybes imo. |

Nope, and the guy wrote a fairly persuasive article. Additionally, I would add that, while I think Lou deserves some credit for his tweaks to the roster for the playoff runs from 2019 - 2021, his biggest victory was getting Barry Trotz to coach the Isles. Then, after 3 reasonably successful seasons, Barry has one bad year and he's gone.......as Cpt likes to remind us, this has always been Lou's MO, so we shouldn't be surprised. But if Lambert doesn't get the Isles back on track, Lou's decisions aren't going to look too good.
On a brighter note..... If the Isles are going to suck next season, the timing is good. Bedard is supposed to be an exceptional talent. - JohnScammo
Tired of this team sucking... Tired of waiting until next year... You are either in or your out... You cannot be half pregnant!!! I would like to see this team go for broke on the right player just once !!! This a team of supporting casts... The problem is that we have no one to support !!!
