Johnston can be sent to Bridgeport for full cap relief. I'm not sure if he'd clear waivers or not. The whole 4th line is overpaid. I was never in favor of bailing out the Leafs to get Martin, but his contract may be the least damaging of the three.

It's certainly possible. I'm sure Sakic doesn't want to have to eat a bad return for Girard and pay market-price for Kadri. I'm willing to bet they had an internal best-and-final offer for Kadri and if they couldn't get him to sign at or below that then they'd move on.

If Martin and Johnston weren’t on the team you would have two other players making what they make replacing them so the cap number would still be the same no? It’s not like you can just dump those two and have two less roster spots on the team to save money. Why do I feel like we have this conversation every July/August 🤣🤣

True but what’s the difference the money is still tied up in 12th & 13th forwards whether they punch faces or not. You don’t save money on the cap if he is good at face offs instead of fighting 🖕🤣

$1 million or $1.5 million are not an issue.. IF you need room u can waive them and YES they would get picked up if you did waive them.. They do have value in a line up whether u think so or not... Ask Carolina who got pushed around by a bigger team who knocked them out of the playoffs... the Rangers were not the better team in that series.. they were the tougher team. Trouba head hunting all the skill players and Canes having no one to do anything about it was a huge factor in that series.


Having a 4th line with guys that can actually play big minutes are why this team was a short handed goal when those guys WEREN"T on the ice away from a cup final.

YOu want to complain about our salaries? who makes too much on this team? No one is making 10, 11, 12, or 13 mill a year. the ones that are high are movable.

Do you ever stop with the Cap... EVERY TEAM has to deal with the CAP. The islanders have more cap room than 75% of other teams right now.. they have NO ONE With a cap hit of more than $7 million... What Corner are u talking about?
