Probably not, but it absolutely spells the end for Mayfield/Parise

Barzal and Wahlstrom are the only two guys that need contracts next offseason, not counting Mayfield and Parise

Varly's $5M comes off, plus Parise/Mayfield. Leaves $7.2M in space. You might see some other guys traded/bought out though

But what about Bailey?

I disagree......Lou doesnt announce at 12:01. If you remember last season he announced Parise a week later. The fact that its not been announced yet, that pendulum is swinging to Lou being the one to have him.

Just so many different scenarios. He could also be giving the Flyers time to make space for him. I'd say all bets are off at this point. It does at least suggest that the NJD were not frontrunners

That works for me. A few of these Bolducs, Wotherspoons, etc better be ready then.

I think he'll be long gone by next season, if we sign Gaudreau

That seems unlikely. Lou just hired that European scout from Toronto, which makes me think the Isles will be going free agent shopping across the pond to fill some spots on the cheap. Which is smart and a drum I have been beating for years.

I can't imagine him wanting to play for Torts. He isn't exactly a Torts kind of player.

Assured by two sources that Islanders have made the presentation, case and aggressive offers you’d want them to, if you want Johnny Gaudreau. Whether he chooses NYI or NJD, and whether that decision is made today, I do not know. -Botta

He has repeatedly said he wants to play there some day. I rule nothing out after JT

I do not care if he had Philly PJ'S if the team is no good why sign? The Isles are close to his family I believe and are better than Philly.

None of these Tampa contracts kick in until next summer. Still have 1 year on entry level contract. just getting it done so he is not a pending RFA.

Devils and Islanders in a battle for Gaudreau? Might be down to them unless someone jumps back in last minute.
