ISLANDERS NAME MACLEAN ASSISTANT COACH

EAST MEADOW, NY (July 28, 2022) – The New York Islanders announced today that John MacLean has been named an Assistant Coach.

MacLean joins the Islanders organization after spending last season as an Assistant Coach with the San Jose Sharks and the three previous seasons (2017-2020) as an Assistant Coach with the Arizona Coyotes. He served as an Assistant Coach with the Carolina Hurricanes from 2011-2014 and New Jersey Devils from 2002-2009, winning the Stanley Cup in 2003.

The Oshawa, Ontario native played in 1,194 career NHL games over the course of 18 seasons, for the Devils, Sharks, New York Rangers and Dallas Stars. MacLean scored 842 points (413 goals and 429 assists).

As a player, MacLean represented New Jersey at the NHL All-Star Games in 1989 and 1991. He played in 104 Stanley Cup Playoff games, scoring 83 points (35 goals and 48 assists). He was a member of the Devils 1995 Stanley Cup Championship team.

MacLean was originally selected by New Jersey in the first round of the 1983 NHL Draft (sixth overall).

Well that’s the thing. It’s never a problem if it doesn’t effect them. Bail reform, illegal immigration, etc. It’s all encouraged until it impacts them. Then you watch them do a 180 and try to impose policies that were racist according to them a year ago. It’s such a clown show never ceases to amaze me just the same.
