Ilya will provide a lot of value in our middle six…Solid at both ends of the ice, Ilya's speed is a real difference maker. Not only does he kill penalties, but he also can create offensively as well." #Canucks GM Patrik Allvin on Ilya Mikheyev

On the back of his jersey they put E. Pettersson, just to clear things up

Ya, I got a good chuckle out of that.

Minor tweaks to forwards. Nothing on D though. No cap space. So player for player trades to tweak D.

I don't think so, not yet. I think 3rd line for continued development.

I honestly don't understand these heat maps, but the analytics community seems to think the the mikheyev signing is a good one for value. With the canucks investing more into analytics this year, I wonder if we more of these types of signings.

He's a really effective hockey player but man he misses a ton of opportunities.

Donna free agent favorites. All 3 Stromes still available. Kadri.

Some teams running out of money real quick.

My thought is how far along he is on the culture change he faced. Mid 6 is good with him bouncing up when he’s rolling. Kuz is the hard player to peg for what role he’d be in. Pearson is falling down the depth chart but Hog has not impressed enough yet. Either we run a deep F group or a trade is coming or a TDL move could be more likely.

Miller is such a swing conundrum on how negotiations go or if he’s a goner at some point. C depth is great with him & not so great without him.

Detroit adding to their forward depth Perron and Kubalik.

Hopefully Edvinsson coming over soon. Seider, chariot, hronek is not pretty.

He lacks finish for sure. His wheels seem to get a break away every game I see him. He didn’t really play with playmakers in Tronna either. AM is shoot 1st. JT off year. After them not much to bring out his best.

Couple of tweaks to the existing roster. D remains the same... no culture change that was predicted. One over paid contract added...

Such an exiting new direction.

All serious I think NYR is positioned to win. I know that's not really a hot take given how they did last year, but one more year experience for Shesterkin and they have those crucial ELC's for Kakko, Lafrieniere that have been invaluable in cap world. If those kids take another step ...

Ideally I'm sure they would have preferred JTM to Trochek, but given the latter came free and didn't cost them one of those young kids ... I can see why they would have balked at us.

Bet365 just had a betboost for NYR to win the cup ... I bit. I'd be more confident east conference champs, but don't make much money that way.

Tbay didn't pay for the first time in 3 years for me this year!
