That's what a mess the Flames are. He took less money to play for Columbus. - Load Management
I just saw on Twitter he left ~ 15 million on the table to get out of Calgary |

A little pricey, but four-year term makes this a solid deal for the Canucks. Mikheyev should really bolster the team's PK and he's an excellent defensive forward with a scoring touch

Well, I'm looking forward to seeing how the team shapes up next year. There is still a long summer ahead, but half the forwards have turned over, so the look will be dramatically different outside the top of the line up and the D. If the goaltending is as sharp as it was last season and our forwards are better, we'll have a good chance of playoffs. |

Granato probably got some insight from her brother on this signing:
Wyatt's heach coach with the Badgers, Tony Granato, thinks that not only will he stick in the NHL, but that the Hawks' best players will want Kalynuk on the ice when they are.
"He's very elusive," Granato told NBC Sports Chicago in July. "He's a guy that I think if you look at the Blackhawks' lineup, especially the skill upfront and the forwards upfront, they need guys from the backend that can not only get them the puck, but also get up in the play with them. "I see him as one of the players that Toews and Kane and the skill guys are going to say, 'I want to be on the ice with him,' because of the way he reads the game and he's able to support the play from a defenseman's standpoint. I think it's a great fit." |

Anyone find it strange that 4 members of the 2018 wj Canada hockey team were not qualified as RFAs by their NHL teams? At only 23 or 24, it seems suspicious to me. |

There is unrest on the Island. Very interested to see how the #Isles pivot from here. Clear they have money to spend. Lamoriello is now in the final year of his contract - can't close the big UFAs. With a new, gorgeous barn, contending for a Cup is that much more important. - VanHockeyGuy
Good stuff. Explains his miffed response on losing round 1 on getting JT. Buck up Uncle Lou if you want your guy. Lol |

Canucks could shift their focus on asking price for Miller. The ask of young roster players and top 4 D. Might have to change. A lot of the teams going for Miller dont have the right assets. - manvanfan
Or a lot of teams wanna get serious then get the pieces to swing the deal. You want something & know the ask then figure it out & get it done. Swing a deal to get what JR asks or put together a 3-way deal. |

Chesley was my guy. Yes no 2nd hurt but we weren’t getting him without a trade down or asset(s) out for a 2nd. |

If Kadri signs elsewhere, can see a couple teams trying to ramp up for JTM.
Still think a Garland/Marino trade makes a lot of sense. |
