Well I certainly put more stock in JR, although I believe things are fluid, this week it’s this way next week could change or stay the same.

I like that they don't seem to want to force things. I can live with waiting if it means less mistakes long term.

Things are fluid, just some of us are running out of patience.

Fluid? Sure, I just listen to the comments of JR/PA and they sound so much like JB (but without the mush mouth stuttering) and his excuses. I just see them making the same promises of changes and shedding cap to help the team improve but save for cutting some spare parts, and the word that they aren't going to do anything much in FA, I don't see that being likely.

But what do I know, I think this core is lazy, soft and relies far too much on their PP and goaltending to win games and it's not sustainable. If they resign Miller, then I'm probably going to go back to lurking for 3-4 years until JR/PA are gone and the next management group comes in and tries to fix things.

Fluid as in molasses like.

As I have stated once or twice, I do not like the make up of this team, nor are there players on this team that I am particularly fans of, but they wear the Canucks crest on the front so I still cheer for the team.
Hopefully, this management can start getting some things done, before the season starts.
In regards to this management team, there were 3 or 4 of us, who expressed some concerns about them, right from the beginning, and I was one that was willing to give them an opportunity to prove me wrong.
So far, they have done nothing to prove me wrong, but haven't really done anything to prove me right, other than a lot of words and inaction.

JR & PA have said what they see is needed to be done. Never said it was easy. Never said they force it. Never said trade for the sake of a trade. Strange that their show of patience is not returned.

Actions speak louder than words, it's easy to say they see what needs to be fixed, yet they had at least 2 opportunities to make big changes to the team in the form of trades and didn't. That's concerning, you can have patience, but you'd like to see something more than tweaks when we've had nothing but tweaks for years and we're still treading water.

OK, let's talk about the expectations of people in here over the past months since JB was fired. The narrative people felt most passionate about was "big changes to Beninng's weak roster coming". The idea that this roster was going to get tougher to play against, bigger, and better defensively was the direction celebrated. Speaking of direction, the list of people in here excited about this teams direction was pretty big.

When does this start? TDL the team got softer, the draft position was reduced, no salaries were shed, Miller still here. Then the draft comes. No picks were acquired, no players were added/subtracted, no salaries were dumped. Miller still here. PA and JR saying there is no hurry.

I'm still trying to figure out this new direction everyone is excited about? Perhaps it's time to admit to yourselves no direction has been indicated yet. Some Euro FA's were signed... but that was likely to happen anyways. That's it. There has been some direction indicated on this teams toughness level... that has been significantly reduced. The draft was disappointing because no picks were added and we gave up a 3rd at the TDL.

Exciting direction my ass...

Tomorrow management has to start rebuilding the bottom 6 and sort out the D. Standing pat the last few months only complicates that.

How much you wanna bet that Calgary signs Lammikko, Highmore and Motte tomorrow?

I’d argue that the year over year turnover under Benning was actually excessive. The problem has been he just kept replacing trash with other (more expensive) trash. It’s time to make a real change. We’ll see if that happens or not. Probably not tomorrow.

No poop... looking like they are going to tweak the existing roster. JR is trying to calm expectations down among the fan base and media. "We've had no offers for Miller". I'm not sure anyone believes that.

The more things change, the more things stay the same. It's like Benning never left but got significantly older, balder and learned to speak proper English after FA got slapped with a corporate diversity lawsuit and hired out of the checkbox line.

It's really nice not fearing what kind of overpaid contract is going to come onto the Canucks roster today

Did you not just read any of the comments above? Nothings changed. The team has no direction. Just doing the same as the last guy.

Diverse is as diverse does lol

Anyways probably best just to grab 6 forwards for the bottom 6 all making 800-950K as that seems to work great for most teams and gives us super good value on the bottom line. Can figure the rest out. As long as we have picks and prospects to keep circling the drain with all should be good lol

I'd move Miller now and start the full teardown I mean after all...what's another 50 years...

Six Brendan Gaunce style players for our bottom 6 would be a good start.

Sounds like Robert Thomas extending 8x8

They must be confident he’s clear of the world jr scandal.

Elliotte Friedman just tweeted this. Pacioretty just can’t seem to find a home. #oldballs

“With LV expected to announce extensions for Smith/Howden, the Golden Knights are a team to watch. Do they clear room? Have heard Max Pacioretty’s name out there.”
