Which FA's are you signing for those bloated contracts just to say "we improved"?

You have no idea who got better. They could all fall flat on their faces.

- Powerslave

This BS happens every year

Homie (and others) get all upset bc we didn’t sign this guy or that guy, etc
Then 2 years into the overpriced 5year (or longer) deals these guys they wanted have signed,
they start saying things like,
“Phew, good thing we didn’t sign those guys after all”

You can do better then a bottom pair rd and 28 year old rookie goalie

It's a gms wet dream what adams had this summer

- homiedclown

We really haven't learned our lesson when it comes to spending like there's no tomorrow on July 1st, have we?

Sign them all for a gazillion dollars and in three years we're all calling the GM an idiot.

He obviously meant “in the room” and not what players around the league see as our reputation
- jdfitz77

Players and agents talk though

So if it's so much better after watching Johnny sign in cbus I find it hard to believe the sabres could not land 1 or 2 big fish if they wanted to

It was simple

Get a cheap goalie and a bottom pair d man and get to the floor

That was the plan all summer

I would have taken Burakovsky at 5.5m, I would have gone after Cat, who cares about the cap space for 2yrs, if are youngins explode like so many expect here, hopefully he stays, if not I trade him at the TDL in a year and half.

Who said spend zillions

Use that 5 mil from bishop and spend 10 mil

Would not have hurt long 9r short term

Instead you guys wanted jvr for a year

You clearly didn't watch the Gaudreau Interview.

They were at the top of his list.

It’s EXTREMELY ARGUABLE whether signing Gaudreau would’ve even been a smart move

Those big UFA signings very rarely result in Cups,
or even getting close to the Cup

Do u think Cbus is a Cup Contender now?
I don’t

And unless he gets fired (and I think he's got the keys to the castle now), we finally have a guy (with a good mgmt team around him) that will.

So you're giving up Savoie for a year and a half of Cat? What does that accomplish?

"Taken" Burakovsky is assuming he wants to sign here.

And u wanted Pk Subban-
who would not have made a difference here

The Sabres are not going to get “GOOD” by overpaying free agents

The chance we have to get good is by developing all this young talent we’ve been acquiring

And whether you like that or not,
it’s gonna take time

C bus got 1 good player.

They're still trash.

Detroit got better but I'm not convinced they're better than us.

Ottawa probably better than us now. But for how long. Will Cat stay ? How much longer will Giroux be a near ppg player? Can Batherson repeat?

They have questions just like us.

- DirtyDan

If Columbus is trash then what is Buffalo?

Very good Hockey players went on sale and were sold very cheap by most standards. Sabres could have made 1 big move without hurting anything. People here saying 1 or 2 moves is rushing it, that's crazy, the Sabres have a treasure chest. Jesus if anything it could of made us Good or even better. Nobody is asking to TM this thing, and with the assets they had they wouldn't had to of.
