Again, the problem wasn't giving up the assets. We have a ton of assets. It was the lack of affordable term that was the issue. Maybe they are going on the cheap, I won't argue against that. But the cap is real and you can't have two wingers signed to those contracts.

The Ducks being linked to Kadri certainly does not send the message of a team that is looking to maintain the status quo next season. Clearly there is a belief that with the proper pieces in place, there is a competitive team to be iced.

What are they doing, dont they know that they are just going to Tim Murray their team and block all of their young talent from ever reaching its full potential?

My frustration comes from me actually thinking the roster is pretty decent.

I think they could’ve contended with some smart moves.

But they just got leap frogged by Detroit and probably Ottawa.

I think this might be the direct result of the owner saying that time to build was over. Time will tell if the moves made by Ottawa and Detroit will push them ahead of us in the bigger race.

Chicago should have kept Cat through this year and done a sign and trade (they would have gotten more)

The Cat might love Ottawa, or he only signs his Q/O and walks after. Doing that trade without an extension in place is awful risky.
